Food is good enough. Standard Asian restaurant. Huge plates. The ambiance during fall time made our day! The views of the falls were great😃 The location of the restaurant is pretty convenient, near the main road.
took my daughter here and she enjoyed it. The food was awesome with the exception of the bonless ribs they were dried out, overcooked and to hard to chew! Great place!
I am not sure what kind of restaurant this is. they have sushi/rolls, they had some Thai food, some Indian curry, Singaporean food, and Chinese food. it was just a mix of what seemed to be anything Asian. We are traveling and stuck with something safe (bowl of Udon noodles, chicken teriyaki, and sushi rolls) The Udon noodles wasn’t bad and normally my son would devour a bowl. he didn’t really want to finish it. it was probably the best part of our meal. Normally i would love the chicken teriyaki but they make it with sliced boiled white meat and it was very dry. Traditionally teriyaki chicken with is served on a bowl of rice but this was served like a Chinese dish with boiled broccoli 🥦 around the dish. it didnt really have the Japanese style of grilled chicken served on top of rice. it didn’t even taste like tradition teriyaki chicken. it was more like Chinese style steamed chicken. The sushi rolls were probably the closest representation of Japanese style food. it tasted like a sushi roll should taste but it was swimming in teriyaki sauce; and I do mean swimming. it should be a hint of teriyaki sauce squirted on with a squeeze bottle not poured on with spoonfuls of sauce. it was drowning in the sauce sauce; to the point where we were wiping the sauce off on the plate it was served on. it was disappointing because i really had my heart set on a nice Japanese meal. Japanese style food should be delicate; less is more (especially when applying sauce) Kogetsu boiler house needs to focus on one style of Asian food and not cater to “all asian” foods because it falls short to any authentic asian style food. if you want to focus in Japanese food then make it look and taste like Japanese food (don’t confuse it by serving it with Chinese boiled broccoli around it). if you want to make Chinese food then make Chinese food. At the end of the day, we felt like we were eating for sustenance and not really eating for the dining experience. Would i go back again? No. Once was enough. I live in Asia and get great Asian food all the time. this was well…an interesting experience. I have never really been to a one-stop asian restaurant inter-mixing the the cuisines of Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Singaporean and whatever else; it was a disaster as all those styles are so different.
Small but mighty! My two favorite cuisines under one roof makes for an epic decision on which one to eat when I come 🤣. Japanese.....or Thai 😋 Today I did the latter. Pad Thai with shrimp 👌👌 Also, those spicy dumplings with peanut sauce............OUTSTANDING! I've been here before, but I guess I hadn't reviewed it yet 😅😂
Good atmosphete and amazing view from the window seats and deck. Sushi was pretty good, just know that ordering the expensive rolls were still normal sized. Many places they are huge. Just something to be aware of when you order an $18 roll. Otherwise they were good. Sit on the deck if you can. Was awesome sitting next to the falls. Would definitely go back and try more of the standard dishes next time.
Beautiful ambiance for the price point, I was a bit awe struck as we were seated because the view and natural lighting are really lovely. We arrived before lunch and scored a table right by the windows. Service was prompt and courteous and water refills were on point. My party shared an assortment of sashimi and maki and everything was excellent in taste, freshness, and quality. Nice attention to detail with presentation. Check for party of 3 was about $100 + tip which is the average we spend on a sushi dinner, the menu had enough options for us at various price points. I left very satisfied and look forward to returning and enjoying Kogetsu's lovely atmosphere again soon.
Came from out of state for a weekend with family, was referred to this place for dinner. Waitress was very pleasant thank god for that. You will see why I said that as you continue to read. The food was not so great most everyone in my party had issues with the food. One meal had absolutely no flavor but extremely spicy it couldn’t be eaten, when we told the manager she seemed to blame our waitress which was not her fault, not professional to do in front of customers. if you ask me it’s the cooks fault. One of my family members ordered the boneless ribs they were over cooked ugh! the noodles that come as complimentary duck sauce was very sweet. Again ugh! Needless to say we’ll never be back. the dish that was too spicy was replaced, though I’m sure the manager wasn’t happy about that she did correct it. The atmosphere was stunning, they have a large window in the dinning area with a most beautiful waterfall. I will say they were very kind as far as being handicapped accessible.
Just some of the delicious food we ordered. My husband also had sushi and it was phenomenal. We were impressed with everything. There is also a cute view of a small waterfall. Great setting, amazing food, attentive service.
