Extremely nice hotel. Everything was clean, staff was friendly, and location was superb. You’re a stones throw away from two of the nicest beaches on the south shore of Kauai! Very nice and clean pool and hot tub. Housekeeping was impeccable. My only real issue with the place was the mandatory valet service. It costs $35/night to park and then you have to tip the valet drivers on top of that even when your car is only 20 feet away. Highly recommend this resort tho and props to all of the front desk staff and housekeeping!!!

Keep in mind, this review is 7 years old. I forgot to place this review after our 2017 holiday, but my partner and I regularly reminisce about our trip and in particular our stay at this amazing hotel. The room was very clean and tidy and the grounds and the pool area were great. The staff were also so wonderfully kind and welcoming. Best part was the sushi we had at the bar next to the restaurant, I believe the sushi was made by a guy named Justin who is probably not there anymore, but it was AMAZING. He was the friendliest guy too! If we ever make it back to Kauai, this is where we're going to stay!

Really nice resort...not too big yet has all the amenities you'd need. Staff were friendly and very efficient. The grounds are immaculately kept and the resort is right on the waterfront...although it has no beach of it's own (rocky outcroppings), there are nice sand beaches a few short meters away...not bad at all.||The pool was great...just enough to relax in if you don't want to go to the beach. A small shopping center is within walking distance (~ 10 to 15 minutes) with a few restaurants (Keoki's is fantastic) and shopping opportunities.||Some things to note:|a. There is no self-parking...if you have a rental car, expect to pay an additional $35 per day (plus tax).|b. The internet at the resort is solid, complimentary and works well.|c. Like many coastal resorts in Hawaii, the on-site restaurant is somewhat pricey...we did not try it and elected to either walk to the small shopping center or drive to a larger shopping center with a large array of dining establishments.|d. The rooms were well appointed and the service personnel were very, very nice.|e. You are about a 5 minute walk along the ocean to the famous Poipu beach...sea turtles and Monk seals can be seen...pretty nice.||All in all...I'd go back again to the Ko'a Kea Resort.

Truly the best service we’ve ever encountered and most beautiful resort. Typically allowed us to check out and enjoy time the two of us! Incredible staff, food, views, etc. If you’re debating doing an ocean with balcony, do it! We enjoyed sitting outside every morning and night & watching the ocean. 10/10!

We loved everything about our stay! Ko’a Kea Resort has everything so you never have to leave. But if you do leave, shopping and restaurants are only a short distance away. This is the place to be! The grounds are so beautiful! Breakfast at the Red Salt which is on the property, was wonderful with a fabulous view of the water. Lunch at the cabana was delicious and fun with a cozy feel. Everyone we dealt with was kind and friendly! We had such a great time!!! Thank you everyone at Ko’a Kea!!!

Excellent staff, perfect location. It’s much smaller than nearby resorts, and far more charming. The restaurant is pricey but really delicious. We had some challenges during our stay but management listened, and resolved them with great care. That speaks volumes.

I would definitely not stay here again. There were a litany of problems, none of which are acceptable at the price point this resort operates at: - The first room had a massive cockroach in the room, and ants in the bedroom, bathroom, etc. - We were changed to a second room, which had an air conditioning unit that emitted a loud screeching noise whenever it was on. This was extremely annoying but by this point it was late and we were exhausted from travel, so we gave in. - The shower is capable only of being scalding hot or quite cold. - The pool is not open until 9am, so you cannot enjoy a morning swim. There is a sign by the hot tub showing hours, but I foolishly assumed this applied to the hot tub only - if you try to swim in the perfectly functional pool before 9am, an attendant will come tell you you aren't allowed to be in the pool, even though there is no lifeguard on duty when the pool is 'open' anyway. We gave up and did our morning swim in the ocean instead; really only an option on good weather days. - The food for breakfast and lunch was truly sub-par; worse than almost all of the restaurants we ate at off the property. The sole exception was dinner, which at Red Salt was perfectly acceptable. - We found it to be confusing that there was mandatory valet to park our car in a regular parking spot in a regular lot. It delayed getting in and out of the hotel, and while the valet team was generally professional, one individual was surly and uncommunicative. On the other hand, the location is relatively convenient. That being said, there is a huge line of resorts and hotels in the area, so this is not much of a competitive advantage.

Overall we enjoyed are stay here for our anniversary. The hotel ground are beautiful with close proximity to some great snorkeling. The view of the sunset from the front lawn is such a nice way to end each day on this beautiful island. My only critic, the prices for the food and drink are inflated to the quality and taste of breakfast and lunch. Overall I recommend this resort. I have fallen in love with this island.
