Such a beautiful atmosphere! The day we were here was a very warm and humid day. We enjoyed being by the water. The breeze coming off was very refreshing! So many stores and restaurants it was hard to choose where to go. My nephew had his little dog with him, so we sat outside. The staff readily brought out a bowl of water for his pup! The food was delicious!! Definitely will come back when we come to visit again!
Something more traditional for once! Great food, everything was made correctly and tasted excellent. There was a good variety on the menu which had an Irish undertone but something for everyone. There were several vegan and gluten free options as well. It was pretty dark in the restaurant which made it hard to tell how clean things were. The beer selection was ok but not outstanding but the bartender and other employees were friendly and willing to help.
The food was good, but the service from the bartender was exceptional. If you think it is a little pricy for a pub (maybe a little) — compared to everything around it — it’s really well priced. Great location and The Wharf seems like a great area.
Great Irish food and service. Located on the wharf boardwalk, there is lots of space and the one waiter, Mr. Michaelson, was super friendly and helpful, even advising on the most bang for buck and economical dishes. My mashed potatoes and “bacon” fried pork loin was very nice. Scallops also good and the trout was also good.
It’s my first time at the Wharf, and the second time here at Kirwan’s. It’s warm and inviting with the dark wood interior with warm lighting. The staff is friendly and attentive to whatever you might need. If sports is what you’re into, you’ll find numerous big screens with the latest games on. However, if you want a quiet meal, you have a couple of choices including a semi inclosed outdoor dining area. The food is really good and hearty.
This restaurant is one of my favorite spots in the Wharf because of the atmosphere and the food. They have a very good customer service and the food is very tasty. I like the set up of the restaurant and if the weather permits I prefer sitting outside. They have very good cocktails and beers. Well recommended
A great way to spend an afternoon at the Wharf. Very pleasant and attentive service. Good proportions of food. Nice atmosphere.
We just happened upon this place while exploring this part of DC on vacation. It was a great meal and I’m glad this was a place we picked to go in after struggling to find just the right places to eat while on vacation. We rode rental bikes down to this area from the national mall. The metro and renting bikes is definitely the way to get around. I had the shepherd’s pie that was made with lamb. She had the Irish ham and cheese. Both were really good but the shepherd’s pie was very tasty. You would not be disappointed with it. The atmosphere was nice and you can see the water from the tables. We did several late lunches as our nicer meals while vacationing so we could enjoy the monuments at night. It worked out really well.
