Well preserved art deco decore. Clean restrooms and station. Volunteer station masters helpful and courteous . Kirkwood station to Sedalia , Missouri with stops in Washington, Herman and Jefferson City. Bicycles can be transported to all River Runner stations.
The volunteers at this location are very helpful and friendly. I love how clean they keep the inside as well. I've visited a few different times . The location is quite convenient for anyone traveling to Kirkwood. Lots of nearby shopping and dining options. Definitely recommend.
Built in 1893. Best railroad station in Missouri, one of the best in the nation, several Amtrak awards, volunteer staffed most of the day and evening, and for the four daily Amtrak stops. First stop west of St. Louis, Missouri River Runner stops at Washington MO, Hermann, Jefferson City, Sedalia, Warrensburg, Lees Summit, Independence and downtown Kansas city at Union Station. Connects there with Amtrak Southwest Chief from Chicago to Los Angeles. Eastbound River Runner connects in St. Louis with last two trains each day to Chicago and the southbound Texas Eagle to San Antonio.
Single track, old school station ran by volunteers. Very easy to navigate. Very friendly staff. Easier than catching downtown.

This is a decent station. Easy to get in and out of, and plenty of parking is available. The staff here seems pleasant and helpful.

The volunteers are very helpful at the Kirkwood Amtrak station as the reviews indicate. Lyle, a Tuesday volunteer provided outstanding customer service on my recent visit to the station to get parking information. This morning one of the volunteers was initially rude but later changed his attitude and offered assistance. Overall, I enjoy departing from the KWD train station.
