I love this place I love to go here and watch the most beautiful sunrises I also love walking the railroad tracks and just sitting there listening to the birds everything about Kirby Park is pretty awesome

It's a pretty relaxing place to go for a walk without having to worry about traffic. During certain times of the year, it's really beautiful. The walking trail, though navigatable, really needs to be manicured. Plants are overgrown, and people tend not to pick up after their dogs.

First time here. The parking lot is back open. I've lived and worked in the area for several years. Lived in Monterey Bay for over 10. I'm still finding new areas to visit. This is a great jump off spot if you want to kayak the Slough. Better here than out by Moss Landing, where you need to pay for parking. Also, the local scenery is beautiful, and there are quite a lot of people out here doing all kinds of stuff. The parking is pretty safe, it feels like.

Beautiful views. There's a Chihuahua named Charlie who will greet you if he's there. Flew kites with another regular, Benicia. We call her "Kite Girl". You can launch a kayak or just watch the sunset.

This place is a few miles upstream on Elkhorn Slough. It takes a while to get there but the solitude and scenery is worth it. There are launch docks for kayaks or small motor boats and a trail between the slough and railway lines to a viewing platform. Good board watching, unlikely to see seals or otters - they are more frequent downstream by the coast.

Great place to walk a dog... Fish... Boat launch, put my kayak in here all the time... Love this place on a king tide...

Here on 6/12/23 and gates are locked. No more info but it appears that Kirby Park is closed lots of the time. A long bumpy drive from Hwy 1 for nothing.
