King's Tavern - Bar in Saratoga Springs - 241 Union Ave, USA

This is a great little local bar across from the Saratoga raceway in Saratoga New york. They have a great selection of tap beers as well as cans and bottles. Food is always delicious and the service is above par. Reasonably priced beers and food great place to hang out with friends after going to the track or even off-season when it's not as busy.

Been here a few times but I went recently and it was pretty busy. My friends were already there at a table so I went to the bar to get my drink. Two of the younger bartenders just straight up looked at me and just kept serving others. At one point, one of them just went on her phone after she looked at me with my card in my hand while I was standing there looking at her. It took my friends to ask our table server to go over to me and take my drink order. Then we were at our table and our server (who was great), was gone for a while (we thought she finished her shift it was so long). The two younger bartenders basically went to every other table and served them and walked right by us. When I asked one of the bartenders if we should go up to the bar or keep getting our drinks at our table, she said after a certain time they no longer serve the tables so you have to go up to the bar to get your drinks. She then proceeded to serve the tables next to us and hang out with them for a while as we sat there. At one point we wanted to get the football game on the tv next to our table. When I went to the bar to ask if we could get the game on the tv she said “we can only get Peacock on the big tv”. I said that was no problem and went back to my table and proceeded to see a bunch of the other tvs on peacock with the game on lol. She just didn’t want to change the channel. The atmosphere is great and the food is good too but the service was particularly poor. I’ve never done a review before on here but I honestly felt compelled to do so because the service was so bad.

Surprisingly good food for a place pretty much empty on a frigid weekday for lunch.

Great fun to be had in this lively, friendly pub with great drinks (try a Bloody Mary!) and delicious fare.

Excellent food and a great beer selection at a terrific trackside location. The best local bar in town. Wings are highly recommended.

We were looking for a place to grab a quick bite and a drink. We saw Kings Tavern bit the parking lot was full so we went further into Saratoga Springs to find another place but couldn't find parking anywhere near a restaurant so we went back to Kings and found a spot. We walked in about 330 in the afternoon and the bartender said he just gave last call and the kitchen was closed. He was only kidding. I had the house made chicken tortilla soup that was fantastic. My wife had the 2 hot dogs with french fries , some of the best fries ever. The bar was a locals bar, it seemed like everyone knew each other. I was a little on the loud side especially 2 tables one with 3 guys and one with 5 women. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

I’ve been to King’s twice on the way to the Adirondacks. The first time was just by chance as we got off the exit looking for any random place to eat. It was a Sunday during football season with a fun crowd. We sat at the bar and had great service and a really good meal. I enjoyed it so much, I went back on purpose on my next trip up. It was even better this time. I went in at an odd time on a Monday afternoon. I was the only person there. I had a fabulous meal. I didn’t expect much from pub tomato soup, but honestly, it was the best I’ve had in years. It had home made croutons and fresh basil. I also got an amazing BLT that had thick pork back in lieu of regular bacon. To top it all off, the conversation with both the owner and bartender was warm and engaging. King’s will be our regular stop every time we’re on our way to the North Country. It’s just one of those special places-nothing fancy, but everything done with love and care. Highly recommend!
