Decided to give Kings Restaurant a try and was not impressed with the food. We ordered some typical dishes and it was not flavorable or memorable. Dishes were priced on the higher side as well so plan to spend more than $40 for 2+ dishes. The atmosphere was also kind of depressing as it was kind of dark towards the back of the restaurant where it was empty. Service was great and we were always given more water and side dishes. If you're willing to drive, Sole Cafe in St. Paul is the place for better food and vibes.
One of my favorite spot for Korean cuisine. Favorite dish so far is the beef short ribs and the pork belly with white kimchi and radish kimchi.
Good edible but the portion size is CRAZY for the price. $18.19 The pictures speak for themselves. Glad I did not tip honestly. The rice was separate from the bibimbap and only filled to half the size of the container. The beef is minced to basically ground beef. I think there's more styrofoam than there's food.
I order 3 dishes to come pick up for dinners total $64. When I got home, I opened the bag and I realized the portions wasn't much. For around $20 per dishes I was expecting a little more. The side dishes was only enough for 1 dishes, where was the other 2 sides for the other 2 orders. The foods taste good though. Just a head up for anyone want to bring family here. Its expensive and portion was on the low end. I was going to order from Dong Yang but they close early so I give Kings a try. Probably better to stick to Dong Yang.
Dined in for lunch today. Male server was dismissive and not very helpful. Ordered Bibim-nap ($17.95) and jam-pong ($18.95). As you can see in the attached photo, they gave us almost no beef. I checked the reviews from even a month ago and photos show way more beef given to other customers. So not sure why they shorted us today on the food. It ended up tasting very bland with little flavor so it felt overpriced. The jam-pong was fine. Also not amazing flavor. Overall an underwhelming experience. 2 stars because the lady server was nice.
Got the bibim-bap, rice cake, and soft tofu. It was all delicious! It was our first time trying Korean food so we weren’t sure how how things combined etc. The waitress came over and explained what everything was to us and combined some of the foods. She was very sweet. We really enjoyed everything and will be coming back soon.
I started off with the ddukbokki with friends and it wasn’t very good at all. There was no chewiness to the rice cakes and the portion size was very small for the price. When it came to service, our server wasn’t very nice and also didn’t let us get refills on the side dishes. He stated that there are no refills after the check, but he never even checked in to ask. We also had the cold noodles and tangsuyuk and those were good but nothing special. Overall I was pretty disappointed with this place and won’t return and I don’t recommend this for others either.
My experience here was wonderful. The atmosphere is classy and mellow, and when our server brought our food, it was absolutely mesmerizing. The Bibimbap was sizzling in a beautiful stone bowl and the food presentations were artful and clean. All of the dishes were very flavorful, with fresh vegetables and side dishes and nicely seasoned meats. We opted for the green grape soju, which was smooth and nicely sweet. The servers were so kind and very quick to attend to us. I would highly recommend a visit to this gem if you have not yet had the pleasure.
