King's Chef Diner - Diner in Colorado Springs - 131 E Bijou St, USA

Great food, great service! We found this place after doing a Google search for good breakfast restaurants in the area. This one was highly recommended so we tried it out and it did not disappoint. It has a really cool vibe inside the restaurant and we were seated right away. The waitress we had was amazing. My husband ordered the grump and the waitress warned him that it's really big and she asked if he wanted a half size but he went all in.... and OMG it is ginormous! 😂 but everything was really really good and I highly recommend you try this place if you're in the area.

Amazing breakfast burrito with Colorado Green Chile. Marley and staff were really nice to me. I went in by myself about 1:30 pm and seemed to miss the rush on New Year’s Eve. I made a good choice going here!

Renowned local diner best known for its original purple castle location and green chili. This has been my go to breakfast diner since moving to colorado springs 20 years ago. Portion sizes are huge! My goto is the Grump - usually only a 1/4, sometimes a 1/2. They are now open at 7 so back in the breakfast rotation for us early birds! (They also now take credit cards)

So the description for the The Grump sounds like a lot of food, but when you get it served to you...its a completely different experience! My wife and I split it and it was obviously more than enough. It was fresh, delicious, and cooked exactly how we ordered it. Our server was awesome. Our food came out fast and for a table of 8, that's saying something. I sampled the French Toast from kids plate after I distracted them with "that dinosaur in the corner over there". That was delicious as well! We will be back, because I found my new favorite diner in The Springs.

While recently visiting Colorado Springs I had the pleasure of dining at King's Chef Diner. The food and service were outstanding. The portions are large and the price is right. Our group of 8 was seated immediately and we received fast and friendly service. Being from the East Coast I don't see green chili options on menus so I had to get the green chili breakfast burrito and it didn't disappoint! It was huge and it was delicious. I opted for green chili and a bowl of their sausage gravy on the side. You can't go wrong with this meal or really any other. Everyone at the table loved their food. Don't hesitate to check this place out!

The food is great here. I can only speak about the bacon cheeseburger, the fries, and the french toast breakfast. I have not had the green chile, because it is not for me. The service is great with Sue and the staff taking care to make sure your food is great. They are located at the corner of Bijou and Nevada. Their hours are 8 AM to 2 PM. No dinner time here.

We went for the first time after talking/hearing about it for 5 years. Words cannot describe the amazing, brilliant, yummastic-ness this place is. You must go...and get the green chili too.

Food was good , the location was good, the restaurant atmosphere was good. You could tell there was a cook Staffing issue. There were a lot of empty tables and a lot of servers but I only saw 2 cooks. They sat us after 10 minutes of waiting which wasn't too bad but why couldn't the one of the servers step in and help?!?! That is what a team does, guess not anymore. It showed in the time it took for the food to get to us,50 minutes. But not to dog on the food it was good and hot! A huge shout out to the cooks!
