Kimpton Canary Hotel - Featured Reviews (625)
Used an IHG free night certificate to book one night at this cool hotel located a half-block from State Street in the heart of Santa Barbara's theatre/restaurant/retail district. Overnight parking is quite expensive, valet-only so we took full advantage of the location by walking everywhere. If you intend to spend most of your time at the beach or wharf area, you may prefer other hotel locations but for us, this was perfect.||We had booked a standard room but due to Platinum status we were upgraded to a suite. Very nice. See photos to see stylish furnishings, a charming arched wall treatment, and nice tile-work in the large bathroom. The view from the room included a peak at the mountains and the Moorish-style tile decoration at the hotel's porte cochere.||The hotel has a small rooftop pool with nice views of the surrounding city. There is also an afternoon happy hour with free wine pours. The staff was uniformly efficient and polite.
This review is for both the hotel as a wedding venue and the hotel!
Working with Jessica at the Kimpton was incredible. She was responsible, flexible, and so great. I was grateful for her attention to detail, and her transparency as well. The rooftop was absolutely magical and we also had an informal drinks at the bar the night before which also was so smooth. We got so many compliments about food at our wedding which can sometimes be hit or miss but we can say that the food, drinks and presentation was awesome. We also got so many compliments about how majestic the views were on the roof. It’s a truly stunning place to get married. We can’t wait to go back and reminisce for this special day in our lives.
As far as the hotel, it is awesome as well! The rooms, service, cleanliness and location were all 5 stars in my book! It’s right in the heart of downtown SB and our room had amazing light and views as well! Can’t wait to come back.
Kimpton you did it again! This hotel was much better than we expected in every category. Diego, Robert, and Ingrid were very helpful at the front desk making sure we got all the benefits from our chase card and they fulfilled any and all requests we made within 5 minutes of texting them. Tristan and Hunter at the valet always had our car ready to go and always greeted us when we returned. This hotel seems like it was recently renovated and all the furniture is high quality. We came with a 2 year old so everything had to be correct and convenient and the staff did everything to make sure we were comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re coming to Santa Barbara.
The hotel feels lovely and the rooms are for the large part excellent. The doors need work though. They close poorly, meaning sound proofing to outside is poor, bathroom doors are noisy and the external door in our kids room was faulty, kept opening on its own. Location is good, one block from main street, although 2km from beach. Lobby, bar and restaurant are lovely. Staff were helpful. Would stay here again.
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at Kimpton Canary — so did our corgi! We loved our room, complete with a balcony where we could watch the sunset nightly. The bed was extra comfortable and the room well appointed. ||The hotel staff were all so friendly. The rooftop pool had amazing views. And the iced coffee at the complimentary coffee bar was a nice touch! Excellent experience.
We could not have asked for a better venue than the Kimpton Canary to host our reception! Jessica was so easy to work with, answered every question/doubt quickly and was really so flexible with our wedding package. She made everything easy. The venue itself is also so beautiful, overlooking all of Santa Barbara and we have wonderful memories and pictures to look back at.
We also had a chance to stay in the suite and it was such an amazing room with so much space and views with a wrap around balcony. The best place to get ready and relax before and after the big day.
Thank you for everything Kimpton! We had a blast!
Twenty years ago, we confessed our love for each other in a similar style hotel in Antigua Guatemala. The Spanish tile, rod iron weather vanes and balconies, the blazing sunsets from the roof deck pool, the four poster wicked canopy bed and the central plaza with fountains trickling next to the magenta buganvillas pouring over stucco walls made our twenty year anniversary all the more reminiscent and magical! The Frette linen and the feathery pillows are as akin to heavenly bliss as I can imagine living on earth! Get the room with a bathtub and a shower as each are experiences to sooth the senses. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash are fragrant of geranium, Liliac and sandalwood. The pool on the roof will whisper to you even when you are at the beach that there is a calm sanctuary waiting for your to return. The Concierge and valet parking attendants are helpful for planning adventures with their bikes and helmets. We had dinner with our feet in the sand looking at the sunset on the water thanks to a tip from a valet. The leaderbetter beach has this kind of restaurant right on the beach front. The personnel are kind, down to earth and generous. We will return for our next anniversary celebration!
Hotel was nice and we liked our room it was beautiful and spacious. I gave it 2 starts because it’s not the hotels fault.. but there was a wedding going on and we felt like we were in the way of everything. We couldn’t use the pool, the bar was packed with wedding guests, and the music for the reception was extremely loud. Congratulations to the married couple, but I wish we stayed elsewhere.
We loved our stay here! The manager/owner gave us great recommendations on hikes in the area! The location is perfect and walkable into town but quiet in the evenings. The room was perfect. We used their complementary bikes to ride to the butterfly b
We had a great time in Santa Barbara. The Eagle Inns staff were all very helpful and courteous and the breakfast everyday was amazing! Very accommodating. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the tub in the room very much. The place is really swe
For me, my Bar Method classes are as important as taking my vitamins! I have been going regularly for nearly two years now and I feel so strong and healthy. The instructors go through a lot of training so you can count on having a good, challenging c
The best F45 I've been to. Class was packed with almost 50 members. All the coaches, specifically Coach Katrina, found time to motivate and challenge me through one of the best workouts I've had in months.
