Kim Son - Vietnamese restaurant in Houston - 2001 Jefferson St, USA

Went in early evening, the place is still quite. Got seated right way. The place is clean, even the bathroom is clean as well. The service is good. Only the food that not totally satisfied with. The food came quick, but it doesn’t hit. The stired fried dishes is ok. However, the tofu in Buddha Delight is off, it’s kinda hallow, no taste to it, too chewy. First time having Pad Thai ever, and had it here, it’s not expectedly good. The only flavors I could taste is Spicy and sweetness. Asking for vegetarian option thought there would be some tofu but none. I think it might be available upon request. Was looking for some veggies dumplings, not much available on dinner menu. Pho Deluxe is good, compare to other places. The only favorite of all is Brown Rice that come with the dish, it’s crunchy, and nutty. I like the brown rice. Overall, a good place for a meal.

Had a great beef and shrimp fried rice here. Service was good, our server was always refilling our drinks and the food came out pretty quickly. I also tried the crab rangoons and they were amazing. Just a great experience all around. The parking situation was pretty bad though. They have a ballroom on the second floor for events, and I'm sure it's not always like this, but the parking was completely full due to one and a pain to navigate due to being surrounded by one way streets.

I was craving Chinese fried rice so decided to give Kim Son a try. They did not disappoint. Fast service and good quantity of delicious rice for the price.

The Atmosphere was very nice, they has a Koi Pond inside of the restaurant, the ambiance was nice also.. The service was very fast and the people were very nice and friendly, they were always asking if we were ok.. very good service.. I ordered the Killer Combo Vermacelli Bowl and it has beef, chicken and shrimp, it was very delicious and was in a very large portion.. Hubby has the Moo Goo Gi Pan and he says it was very delicious too.. has some spring rolls for appetizers but those fell alittle flat with no flavor.. Overall it was a very good experience and I will be back..

Went here on a Sunday night for dinner. The place was very empty but we had also reached really late, so might be busy at other times. We ordered the Vietnamese crepe, crispy egg noodles, combo rice bowl with orange chicken and kung pao chicken, house special fried rice. The crepe and the fried noodles were Vietnamese specialties and different options that we had not tasted before. The crepe was crispy and filled and was to be eaten with leafy lettuce like a wrap. For me the crepe was a bit oily. The fried noodles were nice and crispy but I would have liked more of the brown sauce. The seafood used is not premium quality, so it tasted okay. The orange chicken was good and so was the fried rice.

We've been hooked on Kim Son black pepper crabs since my grandbaby was a little girl, she's turning 30 now. She treated me for my birthday. I do not need a menu I know what I want. Be it dine in or carry out. I have give 4 star because as awesome as the food is I absolutely hate how they put empty shell backs to fill up your plate like there's a lot of crabs when there's really not. When you're paying for crabs that's what you want. Maybe someone can recommend a restaurant and dish to me. The picture looks great but there were a a lot of empty fill ins.

The food here tends to be consistently good. I had never dined in here, but it was a good experience finally doing so. Though service was a bit slow for some parts of my meal, they were relatively good and attentive for the majority. The portions are large and most plates can easily be shared. I recommend the spring rolls, egg rolls, and the Vietnamese coffee. The Jasmine tea is also very good if you're more of a tea drinker.

All the dishes where plentiful and cooked very well.
