We went up for fall colors and stayed in log cabins (heated but you can make your own fire). Breakfast is included and delicious! We purchased a picnic basket dinner and grilled our own burgers with some additional fixings! Staff and chef are superb! Well worth the drive!
My husband and I stayed here two nights to celebrate his birthday, and we loved the whole experience. As beautiful as it is to drive up there, staying in the cabin and walking the trails was even more impressive than I expected. The Lodge stands out at the top of all my travel stays. We'd heard the food was good but even the food exceeded our expectations too. We ordered from the window. What kind people Wadid and John are, and the Keweenaw is lucky to have them and the ideas they are implementing, and all the hard work they've done to preserve that special place.
The Keewenaw Mountain Lodge is such an amazing place. The history of the lodge alone makes it a worthy destination, but when you add in the natural beauty of the location it makes it a must see destination. The new owners are wonderful and make every effort to ensure your visit is memorable. We took advantage of the chefs dinner during our stay and it was a highlight.
We decided to head for the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge (KML) as a getaway - and a getaway it was. We had not been there for many years and weren't sure what's to expect. Located near the very tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula of the UP of Michigan, it is almost the northernmost outpost in the continental US.||The Lodge was built in the 1930'S by the WPA; a public works project under the aegis of President Roosevelt (FDR) during the Great Depression. Accommodations come in the form of twenty-four log cabins, replete with full bathrooms, separate bedrooms, living areas that feature wood-burning fireplaces, and the usual hotel amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, refrigerator & microwave. Firewood is a part of the nightly fee and is delivered each morning.||What really set the place apart was the staff. Monica at the front desk was a total professional and a complete sweetheart. No matter what we needed or when we needed it, she was there for us. The Chef; Wieza (I hope that I have that spelled correctly) was wonderful; and they were both super-friendly and accommodating. All in all, it was a terrific time, a great escape, and a wonderful experience. Totally worth the drive to get there. I would recommend it without reservation(although you will need one).
My husband and I recently stayed here. The cabin (16) was rustic and yet had all the amenities you would need. The windows in the main room opened out to the forest behind the cabin. The scent of the trees and rustle of the leaves was relaxing and serene. The breakfast bowls and wraps were delicious. We met Chef Wi who was friendly and kind and Martin was attentive and helpful. The staff at the Outdoor Activity Center were very helpful and knew a lot about the area; local hiking/biking trails, good spots to see stars, rivers and streams as well as other interests. We hoped to see the stars and milky way because it is a registered dark sky park, but the weather didn't cooperate. We are planning on coming back and hope to stay longer.
What a step back into time. Clean cabins, breakfast is delightful but the ‘unplugged’ two days was amazing. Staff are absolutely the best! Night Skies are unbelievable. Beautiful surroundings, loads of things to do. DON’T miss this opportunity!
Great to be back after many years away. Cabin with forced air and baseboard heat along with fireplace used almost every night was great. Disappointed by no dining room but cafe for included breakfast and optional lunch ok with local dinner choices. Emphasis on adventure experiences like nature hikes, mountain biking, golf, and dark sky stargazing including Perseids was great. Small staff was stretched but friendly and helpful especially Monica, Amy, and Matt. Very responsive to our needs - replaced microwave and brought fireplace wood. Looking forward to returning.
The cabins were very comfortable. The main lodge was beautiful, majestic and historic. There were plenty of beautiful trails to hike nearby. Private dining with Chef Wi was something that we have never experienced in our lifetime. The course began with the blueberry sorbet, her very own recipe made with the finest fresh local ingredients. The main course, appetizer and desert were equally as impressive. Her passion for culinary perfection coupled with desire to please her guests with her pleasant personality, intelligence and gift-for-gab made it an experience we will never forget. --Glenn & Carol

It's a small parking area. But you'll enjoy a lovely winding scenic walk through the woods hiking up and down the landscape to reach the shoreline. It feels a bit longer than what the sign says it is so be prepared. The beach is mostly red rocks with
Great spot to look for Yooper rocks. The trails are quite bumpy with tree roots and rocks so you really have to pay attention! Easy to walk around once you are at the waters edge. We went to the right off the stairs. Parking was available and free. N
We have a summer home in Marquette. Over the years we have expanded our trips to the UP to include camping and waterfall visits. This was one of our first camping trips. Such a beautiful area. A bit hard to find as our GPS took us down a dirt road a
Such a cool and trendy gift store. We loved it and discovered discounted items to take home to remind us of our wonderful stay in Copper Harbor. Really nice and helpful employees.
We all had a wonderful meal. It's a higher end restaurant. The presentation, food and prices reflect that. You will get what you pay for. Gourmet food!
Great little hike! The old growth trees are spectacular. What a blessing that someone thought to save this area. Combined with a couple other short hikes to make a spectacular day.
This place is perfect. We loved the view out the back. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy. The owners are great. We talked to two families who have been staying there annually for decades. There is a great little ice c
Awesome little hike off the side of the road. If you start the hike at the sign and head down to the overlook, you can have a beautiful site of the falls. If you're more adventurous, then take the path to the right of the overlook, and you can walk u
