Kenmar Motel - Motel in Newburg - 17788 Cumberland Hwy, USA

I have it 4 stars, because the owner said they had coffee from 7am-9am & I went at 8am & didn't see any coffee or any breakfast (idk if they offer free breakfast or not), but when I first checked in, there were free donuts and she said I could take some. The next few mornings they had the exact same donuts as our first night and no coffee. So, idk. My car broke down on the turnpike and I got it towed to the nearest shop which is "Blue Mountain Car Care Repair Shop". This was on a Fri & the car repair is closed on Fri, Sat & Sun. So my 15 year old daughter and I had no choice but to stay here for the weekend. The rooms were really nice and clean. We didn't have a car all weekend, so we walked 4 miles to the nearest dollar store. We were going to "BB's grocery store" but the dollar store was closer. On the walk we met a very friendly dog and a beautiful horse. The dog was playing with a bird & he hurt the bird, so we decided to keep it and take care of it. It died the next day. The people in this town are extremely friendly. I'd stay here again if I had to. The owner is extremely nice.

This place was awesome! My buddy’s alternator went bad on the turnpike, what a drag. Ended up getting a tow off and this place was right in walking distance. Rooms were straight outta the 80s. Me and my buds threw down a couple beers and the beds were great. Overall would definitely come back here if I’m ever stranded in the amish country.

Nice, clean, affordable accommodations with friendly staff

Very cozy and clean. Sweet friendly staff. Lit at the door and you can pull your car right up to your room. Also had a very nice coconut vanilla bath bar. Worth every penny.

We did not stay here. We drove up to inquire about their rates and to see a room because we were with our baby and small dog. The lady was nice when we arrived. However when I asked to see a room, she wasn’t very friendly suddenly. She said there would be an extra charge for our small dog. The room was a good size but had a musky smell, so I politely thanked her and said we would think about it.

The owner greets you at checkin and is very sweet. The hotel is dated but very clean. The room is quiet and comfortable. The shower has more pressure and hot water than I have at home. It is convenient for work and the rate is fair.

A mom and pop motel; that's a thing. Outdated I guess. Has every amenity except a coffee maker. New paint. New carpet. Tiling in bathroom perfect. Spotless. Good wifi. Generous size room. Amish country. Less than half the price of the norm.

As most reviews have stated, this is an older motel, but has been maintained in excellent condition over the decades. The authentic retro feel is nice, and the motel is very well cleaned. It is like stepping back in time, which is pretty neat. The new owners have only been there a few weeks, according to them, but there appear to be changes. The room is still nice, but a few small soap bars, only one washcloth for four guests, and cheap toilet paper didn't seem to fit with the rest of the amenities. The offer a breakfast, but it consisted of a couple boxes of doughnuts, one cereal that the owner poured, a couple of apples, and milk, juice, and coffee, which were rationed out. They might as well not offer a breakfast. Our kids ate, but we chose to go elsewhere for something more substantial. I hope the new owners improve the customer service aspect of the business. It would be a shame to see this classic treasure decline, as most of the motels from this era already have.
