Great little spot off the side of the road. We almost missed it, not that well marked, have to walk towards the gate up from the parking area. You have to follow the path down. Its a little bit of a walk but not bad at all. Lots of plants and trees to look at. Definitely worth stopping for. Just gorgeous!
Highly recommended to visit here on the way to Hana. Beautiful green fields, unique plants and trees, especially the eucalyptus rainbow trees. Easy and short walk. You will find here varieties of tropical plants such as papaya, hibiscus and ginger. Parking on the road to Hana.
Well worth the stop and a great place to birdwatch and learn about tree specimens from around the tropics. Trail is mostly shaded so a good place to stop to get out of the sun. The Rainbow Eucalyptus trees are amazing with good access without a long walk. If you're willing to walk in the sun, good access to an active Kalo (Taro) plantation. Must see stop on the Road to Hana
This was such a beautiful place to go to. I love plants and trees they also had a stream there was more on a off trail but I didn’t go. Historically built in 1971 and everything was such a beautiful view. The way the plants climb the trees and it just grows naturally.
Another quick stop on the Road to Hana. The main reason for this trip was to check out the rainbow eucalyptus trees and explore a little further. Round trip was only a mile with hardly any elevation gain or rough terrain. The flowers with nice but the rainbow eucalyptus trees were GREAT! Only downside of the trees are all of the initials people think are okay to carve in them.
Very cool spot to stop. It was worth the recommendations we heard about. Lots of cool trees to stop and take a look at. There’s some amazing rainbow eucalyptus trees that looked like something directly out of Jurassic park. We also found some Papaya and Banana trees with some low hanging fruit. Nice river to hike along with a couple little waterfalls. Very nice spot.
It was pretty cool. Definitely the Highlight was the painted eucalyptus. I saw a picture of it in one of the stores and Kailua. And seeing them in real life was a treat. I would definitely recommend this place if you like trees. They have of course a lot of different types.
This was a pretty quick stop for us along the Road to Hana. It's a pretty short path, but it's nice to stroll through.
The main attraction for us were the rainbow eucalyptus trees. While they were nice here, it was crowded and we enjoyed the ones on the side of the road at mile marker 7 a bit more (those are on private property though).
The plants are all pretty along the path. It's kind of like a small, more rugged botanical garden.
I thought it was worth a quick stop.
It's a 5-10 minute hike up the hill, but completely worth it. Some of the best photos and most beautiful scenery I saw on my visit to Haleakala was at this vista, and it was next to the visitor center, so there was parking at the trailhead. It also p
Had an amazing time here visiting!! I went here on a whim (with a some research) and wanted to try out this distillery. Did the tasting prior to ordering drinks and food. Shoutout to Jada our guide explained everything fantastically well!! You are ab
Wear sturdy shoes because rolling an ankle can easily happen. Absolutely stunning views and a peaceful, quiet, serene hike, with the exception of the occasional âAlohaâ to a passing hiker. We went on a Sunday and I thought it would be packed but
There is an admission fee to this national park. The park is well maintained and very clean. You need to make a reservation to come early to watch the sunrise. You do not need a reservation during regular hours. Note: there is no food or gas for sa
Beautiful park with some amazing trails. Be aware that 4 wheel drive is required to drive to this park and that many rental companies will not allow you to, so I recommend checking with whoever you rent from first if you plan to try to go up.

Beautiful, small, intimate botanical garden. Won't take more than an hour to see everything (if that), but very much worth it. Wide variety of native Hawaiian Flora and even rainbow eucalyptus trees that are so prevalent in the Philippines! Stop alon
