Wide-opened area with the pink pond, and nice boardwalk next to a beach. Getting there from South Kihei is a little tricky as it is on the left side - best is to follow Google direction. Depending on the sun light and viewing angle, the water could appear pink. Parking is a little tough during peak time. However, with a little patience of waiting, one can get a spot as visitors come and go.

Small wildlife wetland area for a quiet walk on a raised boardwalk. Drought has reduced most of the wetland to dry patches. This has provided a pink water patch that is a part of the Kealia pond. This is fascinating and nice to view. The parking lot is small, holding less than a dozen cars. Parking on the street is limited and mostly restricted.

Such a pleasant walk. We went when the water had turned from pink to burgundy. Can't wait until winter.

Pink water isn't normal. No dogs allowed. Tough parking going North, no left turn allowed into parking lot. Plenty of street parking.

A nice natural area with a new, comfortable walking platform to view the ponds and flora. A good quick diversion and the pink pond is a special, rare occasion!

I think I came at the wrong time because today 21 July 2023 was a very hot and windy day and didn't see any wildlife. But the most concerning thing was all the dead fish in the dried up pond. The rotting smell was quite bad. Not sure if this is a normal seasonal effect of the drought or if the pond got poisoned recently. Other than that I am reading all the other reviews and seeing the pictures and it looks like a completely different place than what I experienced. The board walkway was in great condition however so I think in better weather it would have been amazing.

Go to the visitor center before heading out to the boardwalk or walking around the ponds so you can get the bird watching guide and possibly borrow binoculars. There is a clean public restroom at the visitor center. There is one picnic table out by the wildlife viewing parking lot closest to the picnic area. We saw so many interesting birds here. Well worth the drive. You need to walk slowly and quietly to observe and appreciate this area, so I wouldn’t recommend for smaller kids. Be sure to walk out the dunes by the boardwalk area (separate from visitor center area). Beautiful beach, popular with locals, so try to visit on a weekday if you can.

Short boardwalk, limited parking , lake is no longer pink. No it just looks like brown mucky water. Even with a color filter, I can't bring even a change of pink to the picture. Skip.

The BEST meals I’ve had in Maui are at Earth Aloha Eats. Amazing plant based options for vegans and non-vegans. Recommend the chick’n burger and the pulled pork fries. Gyro is also tasty (but so packed you might not get to actually wrap it). Come
