We love eating at the Kawanhee Inn restaurant. We own a camp nearby and have been coming here for years. The scallop appetizer is amazing, salads are wonderful, desserts are large and the lava cake is delish! The lobster Mac and cheese is always a hit. They also have creative cocktails each year and terrific service. The views are outstanding, and (pro tip) if your kids need to burn some energy before dinner there’s a steep hill you can have them run up and down adjacent to the restaurant! 😂 It’s a treat! We love going and will always come back to Kawanhee Inn.

Beautiful Inn from the 1920’s . Restaurant has always been top notch . Bring your wallet . Average per head with tip not including alcohol is about $65 . That’s apps, dinner & dessert. View from the porch of Webb Lake has always been beautiful. Service was very good , polite and fairly timely given just a few waitresses and a host working . Worth the trip to go and to make a reservation.

Extraordinary food prepared with such love that every bite was a gift. Situated on one of Maine's most pristine lakes nestled in the woods outside of the village of Dixfield, seating is designed to offer lake views. Sip your perfect adult beverage on the expansive porch while the sun sets on Webb Lake. I had the sword fish and a negroni. The service was as stunning as the food. If you find yourself in western Maine and want a night out at a gorgeous old inn on the water with world-class food, then get yourself to Weld.

We live 10 minutes from Kawanhee Inn and were there for dinner. It was outstanding. The food was delicious. My husband had salmon and I had filet mignon . We highly recommend this restaurant. We also recommend the cauliflower bites for the appetizer. It is "to die for " Definitely make reservations and try it. You will not be disappointed. The scenery is top notch as well .

Had dinner here, they didn’t have our reservations even though we had a confirmation. They seated us quickly and were able to accommodate which was much appreciated. Very cool old cabins and restaurant area. Kitchen and staffed seemed a little out of sorts but the food was good and ambience of being right on the water was great.

The Kawanhee Inn restaurant has great sentimental value for my family as we have been coming to Weld and this place forever. It is the breathtaking views and atmosphere that really make this place special. The food is usually good to very good although a bit expensive, which is understandable for a seasonal restaurant with beautiful ambiance. The cowboy filet mignon is excellent and the steak with blue cheese is good too. The onion ring appetizer is always a must. New this year was roasted carrots with a honey sriracha glaze wrapped in bacon A+. Hope that stays on the menu. Murph's strawberry rhubarb pie is always a favorite when available. I still got the prime rib this year even though their rendition isn't my favorite and it was good but if you don't like it slathered in their gravy maybe ask for that on the side. It's hard to even tell how well the meat is cooked when it's covered in brown gravy. I like the touch of horseradish in the gravy though. Mashed potatoes were good. Service the first night was slow and waitress was lackluster. Our second waitress later in the week had more personality. Even if you don't eat here come for a drink on the porch and watch the sunset.

We did not stay there but had dinner there for our anniversary (our AirBNB hosts recommended). Very nice atmosphere. Things started off well with the food as the scallop appetizer was fantastic, tender and flavorful. My wife ordered the duck, which she enjoyed with the exception of the fact that they put the sautéed spinach under the duck which had a blueberry sauce. That kind of ruined the spinach. I had the Steak Dahany, which I ordered medium but came rare. It was rather tough and other than the bleu cheese topping, rather bland. The fingerling potatoes and roasted vegetables underneath were cold. As a side note, I did tell the hostess it was our anniversary and asked to be seated by the screen with the view of the water but she said no, there were none available. So we were placed at a small table next to the wall. The entire time we were there there was an empty table right across from us by the screen. It was still empty when we left. It's a neat place but for the price it didn't live up to the billing for us.

We had dinner two nights at the Inn and it was wonderful. Our server Julie was so sweet and accommodating and the food was outstanding. You can’t beat dinner by the lake. Don’t miss it !
