Great Hawaiian brunch spot. The owner is very personable and sees to every person’s needs. Service makes this place a 5 star. You are never neglected !!!! They make sure they refill your coffee/drink and have the condiments you need. Additionally, portions are very filling and everything we sampled was delicious.

The guy that I assume is the owner is fantastic. He is a lot of fun and very welcoming. We started with the meatball appetizer, which was fantastic. I highly recommend it. My friend ordered the tofu pork special (mapo tofu I think) and I ordered the chicken katsu with the pineapple slaw. Both dishes were good, but my friend’s dish was really good. I have not been to Hawaii, but in my opinion the chicken katsu was on the bland side. However, the pineapple slaw was great, and once I combined the two together, it was really good. I would love to go back and try another dish, because I think this is a good restaurant and I honestly couldn’t decide what to order, lots of other dishes I want to try.

Great for brunch, lunch or dinner! We love the atmosphere, the owners, and of course the food. The homemade spam is incredible, and the kalua pork and Mac salad is amazing too! Truly a must stop in Sacramento 🌺

Amazing food and service. They went over the special menu in detail and it all sounded great. Lots of vegan options.

We originally came here the first time for the special Valentine’s Day menu but we wanted to try Kau Kau again with the traditional menu. We ordered the musubi, sliders, garlic shrimp, and chicken Katsu. The service is incredible! we really felt taken care of. The food was great! The sauce that comes with the chicken is different from our usual experience but it really is a game changer. Everything tasted fresh, and you really do get an itch to try everything from the menu. Hope to return to try the brunch items

Alooooohhhaaa! This hidden gem serves seriously ono-licious Hawaiian fare! If you’re craving authentic island flavors this place will not disappoint! Everything is delicious - they make their own “Spam” in house (they call it sham) and it’s soooo flavorful! I’m partial to the garlic shrimp and loco moco but seriously you can’t go wrong. Try the Kalua Pork sliders and Ahi Poke bowl (hint - it makes a great shareable appetizer if you get it salad style). Oh and save room for dessert because they have mini malasadas (Portuguese/Hawaiian donuts) that are made to order and come with homemade ice cream! The environment and staff truly exude the Aloha spirit.

Holy Kau Kau! Get it? This place was incredible! We went here with another couple and it was all our first time and literally all of us were very pleased with our orders. Let me start by complimenting the staff and how fun the owner was. I think there's something so warm and charming about their approach to service. It's casual but the food did not taste casual. The food was well made. I had the loco moco and it was so good. The rice, the gravy sauce, the beef patty all just blended well together. Don't forget the egg on top. Just wonderful. We also ordered the sorbet and that was a nice sweet way to end the night. Our table was one of the last tables to leave that night but we didn't feel rushed. I definitely would like to go back and try the other dishes.
