Oh wow, this place just hits the spot. I had the French toast and I’m in love! Perfectly made, and I loved the cinnamon on top. Not too decadent that I couldn’t finish the entire plate :) my husband ordered the gluten-free pancake combo and he loved it. Great fluffiness for gluten-free pancakes! Parking was tight, but we got lucky and found a spot immediately. Prices were amazing. We will be back!

My friend and I went her for a quick brunch Her sister recommended it to her and we give it a try and we love the food and service! I got their Beach Benedict and my friend got the waffles eggs bacon and sausage links!. And of course pair it with their mimosas! The only thing tho is the parking situation is limited but over all we recommend this breakfast place.

We like to frequent Jessy’s at ocean view and pass Karla’s…being it’s less than half a block from Jessy’s! So, Jessy’s was under remodeling…fate brought Karla’s. So the burning question is why haven’t I been here sooner?????? It’s a delightful small place. It’s very coastal in decor, very cozy, and the service was top notch!! Of course the food fare was outstanding! They do have a smaller menu, as they close early, but let me tell you they are done right. The chicken and waffles were simplicity done right, fresh and crispy chicken and a big fluffy waffle with two eggs. Seasoned very well, not salty at all…very well done. The Philly breakfast bowl is a new twist on the classic cheesesteak base. The serving was large, not greasy, the onions and green peppers were brightly grilled and fresh tasting. The last dish was the Monte Cristo sandwich. I’m a fan of that sandwich, the last one I had the whole Sammy was dipped and fried….this Monte Cristo version at Karla’s leans to the grilled cheese type of sandwich like the original American version of the French classic back in the 30’s, it was sweet and savory. Outstanding Monte Cristo!! Not many places serve this old world sandwich anymore. This place is worth every second of your time, the people will make you feel at home, the food is just nicely done. Highly recommended!!!!!

My husband and I split a swiss mushroom burger with fries and had lumpia and fried green tomatoes. Our server was very nice and it was quiet and clean. We brought the leftovers home to our pup and eben he loves it!

Oh man I LOVE living in Norfolk, especially near the beaches! But this place is just another great reason why as well. WOW! I didn't really know what to expect when I came here because I grew up in this area and it wasn't always the best place to live.... But over the last 10 years there have been some major positive changes and having small "Mom & Pop shops" and restaurants is one of the best changes. Our family just moved into this neighborhood last year (from VA Beach for 20+yrs), and driving down Ocean View Ave, I would always see this little place and wanted to check it out. I'm so happy I did and it is my new MOST favorite breakfast places to go! And it's SO crazy close to my house!❤️ When I went, I saw they have breakfast bowls and that's my favorite way to eat this at home too, so I ordered the "Philly Bowl" (Steak, green & red peppers, onions, eggs, home potatoes, and mozzarella cheese 🥰). Soooooooooo good! And to top it off they have their own coffees too! (Norfolk Coffee & Tea) Just amazing! If you want to have a really good breakfast (and lunch too), try this place. I'll definitely be back!💯💯💯

You will feel the warmth as soon as you enter the place. If I'm not wrong, it's a women run business. I love it when such businesses thrive and deliver great food and customer service. We ordered a caprese grilled cheese and a sunset. It took a bit of time but it was totally worth the wait. The food was absolutely delicious! The locals are a lucky bunch to have such a place in their neighborhood. I'd highly recommend it! Bonus: Public access to the beach is less than a min away.

I had a very good time my first time in. Not busy at all, so my server was very attentive. The food was healthy portions and had a lot of flavor. My omelet had gravy on top and hit the the spot. Definitely will come again and try a bloody mary.

Our food was very tasty, hot, fresh, but, unfortunately, it took a while to come and a while for us to order. It was an honest mistake, but the hostess forgot to tell the waitress that we were her table. That wouldn’t be such a big deal, but we were obviously sitting there for nearly 15 minutes with just menus and no drinks. Any of the wait staff or the hostess could have seen had they been looking around that we were waiting. We tried to catch staff’s eye, but they just weren’t attending to us. Parking here is a challenge, but we would definitely go back and just be more assertive about getting our order taken. Once the waitress came to us, she was very attentive and, like I said, the food was good.
