Kappo Nara Ramen - Ramen restaurant in Virginia Beach - 989 Kempsville Rd, USA

1/2/2024 - I love this place. I have been here multiple times. I am happy they were able to expand the building. The ramen is always so delicious. Their other foods are just as good. I usually get the miso ramen but recently I tried the grilled chicken ramen which was just as good. I have also gotten the appetizers, rice balls with salmon, Takoyaki, Yakitori, & Karaage, all of which are good. My husband likes spicy miso and curry. I have even tried their GyuDon. I have never had any issues with the food and find it all delicious. You can also get milk teas. I have always loved the decor of the place too. Servers are always great and quick. Highly recommend eating here to enjoy their service and food.

Although the eggs were a little too undercooked for me, the food was quite tasty, and the portions were more than enough. I had to take some home.

The ramen at Kappo Nara is amazing! The broth has a delicious flavor. The takoyaki and gyoza make good appetizers.

The food was unfrozen and served to us. The ramen was not good. Not a good place to have ramen. Also, the soup is terrible. It was like water with a soup base. The waiters were friendly but the food took 30 minutes to come out. Not recommend this place.

Food is great but the service and wait times are ridiculous. My coworkers and I have ordered from here 3 separate times for our lunch. We always order ahead as we only have 30 minutes for lunch. The first time was great. No issues. The 2nd time was super busy, food took too long, we didn't get to eat even though we placed an order prior. The 3rd time makes me want to never return. We placed an order at 1pm to pick up by 130 pm. The order was due to be ready just before, which was perfect. We get to the restaurant and the waiter is confused and says they don't have an order. The money is already pending from my account, so they got something. The waiter accused me of choosing the wrong location, not setting the order properly, etc. I was actively receiving updates through door dash that my order was received and the food should be ready. Turns out the staff neglected to check their door dash ordering system for almost 45 minutes, where my order was waiting. Again, the food took forever, my coworkers and I were late back to work and didn't get to eat our food. Don't order here if you cant wait, even ahead of time because you'll still be made to wait.. no compensation was offered, no apologies for not checking order systems. Absolutely ridiculous. The Boba place next door is amazing though! We will definitely continue to go there. Staff is always friends and super quick.

This place is the absolute best place to get ramen! I’ve been going there practically my entire time at college and while it has been over a year since I last visited I crave the ramen here! It is the absolute best! It’s a must try!

The food was okay, nothing special. We ordered the chicken teriyaki with rice and the grilled chicken ramen. The ramen didn’t have much flavor.

This was my first time coming here..the food tasted good, but I ordered edamame and had some left over and I took some home and later found a maggot in one of them. I’m not sure how I feel about coming back.
