had an amazing stay at the Marriott Kansas City Downtown! The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. My room was spotless, comfortable, and had a great view of the city. The location is perfect—close to great restaurants, shops, and entertainment. I also loved the fitness center and the on-site dining options. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Let me first start off by saying I have stayed here previously before this past weekend for many huge events and conferences that took place in KC. The location is why I picked the hotel! But my experience felt like I was staying in a Motel 8! However, the experience and the property is not up to Marriott standards. First it was the check-in process where the front desk associate blamed me for their outdated credit card system not working and because their system wasn’t working she got upset. The same thing happened when my friend when he tried to check in as well. Next, I got into my room and wanted to shower and the shampoo and conditioner was empty. This left me feeling like my room wasn’t properly cleaned. I went downstairs to ask about it and the staff just said oh she must of forgot. Poor service again. That’s not all, the pool is just disgusting from the inside out. I walked in and out real quick! Last but not least, we came back to our room before checkout time after eating breakfast and to our surprise we were locked out and couldn’t shower because they had already locked us out and cleaned the room. Meanwhile, we still had an hour left before checkout. This experience was less than stellar and I will be sharing this experience with the board for any future events so that we don’t book it here. This hotel needs to be visited by your corporate office so that it gets the proper updates and training it needs to be able to call itself a Marriott property.

Besides its location, this hotel leaves much to be desired. Despite the fact that they say they have an executive lounge, it is only open during restricted hours, and there is no breakfast or afternoon appetizers like there is every other Marriott property with the lounge. Supposedly, they stopped serving food there during the pandemic, and it never started again. Well, the above is disappointing being checked into a room that was not properly cleaned and then moved to another room. That also wasn’t properly clean is very concerning one should not have to wipe someone else’s hair out of the shower. If you say well, at least there is a pool. You will also be disappointed by just how filthy the inside and exterior of the pool is. If you are only looking for a place to sleep and don’t mind having a room that has not been properly cleaned then stay at this hotel if you want to actually receive all of the benefits, you typically would as a Marriott elite member and have a clean room I would look to another property

It is to the point after 700 nights in the last 8 years I can tell within a few minutes of arrival if this hotel stay is going to be good or not. This one was a series of disappointments. First no e key, you have to park and go in, since I had to go in anyway opt to go ahead and self park, half the parking lot was being power washed so only some spaces open on level one, those who arrive later are about to find out parking will be a nightmare with the closed streets and construction around hotel. Went in 530pm two cues for lines but only one employee, HEY if you had e key this 15 minute wait would not have happened. Finally to check in- do I at least have lounge access? Oh a pipe broke it’s closed but let me give you a breakfast voucher. Since I leave at 6a and returned at 10a this isn’t helpful, and if you want a coffee or tea this requires more waiting in the bar. Gave me the voucher anyway and it went unused. Room was old style and worn. 40 minutes after check in an ekey appeared. You must have some real sketchy clients to go to this level of screening before one is deemed worthy. Really looking forward to downtown KC, moved for second night as didn’t want to get caught with on street parking.

What truly stood out was Robin's dedication to ensuring every guest felt valued. He went above and beyond to accommodate special requests and always did so with a smile. His commitment to excellence and genuine care for the guests was consistently apparent throughout my stay. In summary, Robin Roberts exemplifies the highest standards of hospitality. His outstanding service significantly contributed to the positive experience I had at the KC Downtown Marriott. I wholeheartedly recommend Robin for his exceptional skills and dedication to guest satisfaction.

The Downtown Kansas City Marriott never disappoints! The hotel is well manicured and all of the staff are superior. It is always a pleasure to be greeted by Brother Robin in Valet. He has a great personality, is always helpful, and truly represents Marriott in the best light.

Mitchell M. provided outstanding valet service. He was incredibly friendly, polite, and made the experience smooth and pleasant. There was a long line at the valet after a big event, but Mitchell got my car quickly. His professionalism is truly commendable.

We had an excellent time. We met Robin ( Bell Captain) who assisted us in a very professional and courteous manner from getting Ubers to informing us with things to do in the area. He was fabulous!!! It is so great to have people onboard to help!
