Clean, comfortable, and a rare bargain. Opposite a little park, close to restaurants and a Mexican food truck. Great AC, quiet room. No bathroom fan, but the window opens. EDIT: returned two years later. Great customer service by one of the owners to fix WiFi in my room.
I paid $38 sole occupancy, and on the day standard rooms were c.$44.||For this pricing point its excellent. Location good. Has a/c, fridge, microwave, TV. Rooms are dated however clean.||It is basic, rooms are OK size not huge. For the price I thought it excellent. You could pay 2 or 3 times this For a modern motel with all amenities and breakfast however for a budget friendly place this was very good.
Small room had everything that I needed: comfortable bed and pillows, good heat for a cold night, microwave and small fridge, abundant hot water with good pressure. Right off a busy highway but when heater/ac is turned on, device serves as a sound machine and I didn't hear highway traffic. I slept very well. Very clean, no bugs, and the price was super!
Would NOT recommend staying here... TOO MANY BUGS! At first it was just moths. One dead one on the ground and at least 1 alive. I was grossed out/annoyed (a little) but I wasn't going to let it ruin my stay. Then I went into the bathroom and there was a millipede crawling around the floor. This didn't gross me out that much but still I was annoyed. "Ok whatever," I thought. Then I heard buzzing and looked up in the bathroom and there were lots of what looked like mosquitoes. I was actually starting to get really annoyed because I was reading the reviews and people complained about bed bugs and I was skeptical at first but I really wouldn't doubt those claims. I was actually so paranoid about these claims that I didn't use the bedding and just slept on the bed without removing the sheets. Continuing on my bug journey... I stumbled upon what looked like a black cricket under a chair. Later on when I went to get my shoes guess what I found inside of my shoe... THE BLACK CRICKET. After that I was SUPER ANNOYED and struggled to fall asleep. We did not keep the door open we came in and out (for people who are wondering). We ended up catching it and gave it a ride down the toilet. There were also some flies flying around and all I heard was buzzing while trying to sleep. It was also dirty and my socks were getting wet as I walked on the carpet...the bottom of our feet started to turn black (look dirty). The internet kept cutting in and out and it was just a rough stay. Look I get it, I didn't pay a ton of money for it but honestly I still think it should have been somewhat better/decent. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! Pay the little bit more money if you can, to sleep in a cleaner place.
If reliable wifi isn't critical, definitely consider this motel. Room is small but otherwise had everything that I needed: comfortable bed and pillows, good heat for a cold night, microwave and small fridge, abundant hot water with good pressure. Right off a busy highway but when heater/ac is turned on, device serves as a sound machine and I didn't hear highway traffic. Bed linens were comparable to those I've had in higher-priced hotels. I slept very well. Very clean, no bugs, and the price was super! Deducted one star for the poor wifi.
Although the motel does not offer coffee or breakfast, you can park right outside your room. This in one of several older motels along the Pancake Highway but appears to be well kept. The room was quiet and comfortable. Obviously coffee would have been nice, but there are restaurants nearby.
For what we paid, I considered giving this 4 stars (or dots). This is one of about a dozen old roadside places on US 54, all of which look about equal in upkeep, etc. I'm pretty sure this was built as the Frontier, around the mid-'50s. It's been drastically remodeled, and the pool and western section of rooms are gone. It has a good location just a few blocks east of the bottom of the main drag up into town. We thought the neon-lit eaves were really charming. Our rate, on a Monday was just under $52, including tax.|||| The room was medium-size, and clean. The bathroom had nice new modern tile, which looked a bit DIY. Of course I was sad not to get an old tile bathroom. Fridge, microwave, flatscreen and wifi were all provided. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were clean, and the room was quiet at night. Really all we could ask for, but the next time I might try the Ranch across the street just to check it out.
I stay long term for work and they clean my room everyday and they put my mail or packages in my room for me. They take real good care of me. The price is great by the week. It is where I stay when I'm working in the area. I stayed 6 months once and am working on another stay that long again.
