Nice tribute monument in a very nice park, right across the street from the ocean. Would recommend going early in the morning when it's quiet and almost empty.
Nice park with a cute lake. You can walk around and enjoy the weather. There are several bridges that connect one side of the lake to the other side. It’s a good place to take pictures.
Absolutely beautiful park with the statue to the great King! The locals still make offerings to him and there were lots of leis there. Super empty park with easy parking. Could be a quick photo opp or stay and have a picnic at one of the tables nearby. It was pretty empty when I went on a Saturday at 12pm.
A wonderful place to stop to take some pictures. There are a couple of informational signs telling about what the area was like on Kamehameha the Greats time. There are a couple of picnic tables for a quick lunch. There are no facilities here but there is on the other side of the park.
Beautiful monument to "Da King".
Peaceful place, very nice for picnic but depending on the weather very it seems is always raining. Keep an umbrella.
If you were to stop in Hilo for just one day, make a trip to the KING KAMEHAMEHA STATUE.
Pull out a blanket, have a picnic, bring your lunch and afterward take a walk over the bridges and around the park. Lovely time for the whole ohana/family.
If your lucky, you just might see new leis being put up throughout the week, the smell is amazing
Very nice. Flowers were around statue. Vet memorial in background about 300 yards.
