The volunteers here are fantastic and very knowledgeable. The tour guide was a great story teller, really paints a great picture of the family and area and leaves you wanting to do more research. A really great experience.

Based on one visit, it is small and yet there is a lot of good information at the interpretive center. The guided tour was well worth it, to see the building itself, and hear the stories of the people that live there or that lived in the town and how it became a museum.

Excellent side trip in John Day. Our guide, Mikaela, was passionate, knowledgeable and entertaining. The history of Chinese cultural influence is kept alive here.

What a very intriguing and educational place to be! There is loads to learn about the Chinese influence in Johnday and in fact Johnday might only exist because of the Chinese that lived there.

If you are interested in history at all, Kam Wah Chung is the place to see. It is like a time capsule from the 1940s. It talks about the Chinese in this area for 100 years.

Great piece of history! Tours are once an hour with a max of 8 people each tour. They don't take reservations, so get there early.

I have traveled around the world. I am in Tokyo currently. Me and my wife still haven't found a breakfast burrito that compares to this godly place. Y'all have ruined breakfast burritos for us everywhere else we go. This place is special.
