Kalei's Lunchbox is an absolute gem when it comes to both food and staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly smiles that set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food - it's nothing short of excellent! Each dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty sandwich, a flavorful salad, or one of their daily specials, you can trust that you'll be treated to a delicious culinary journey. The flavors are vibrant, the ingredients are fresh, and every bite is a testament to their dedication to quality. But what truly sets Kalei's Lunchbox apart is the staff. They go above and beyond to ensure you have a memorable visit. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate special requests are commendable. You'll feel like a valued guest, and their genuine passion for creating a delightful dining experience shines through in every interaction. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, Kalei's Lunchbox is a must-visit. With excellent food and a staff that goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome, it's the perfect spot for a satisfying and enjoyable meal. I can't recommend it enough

Restaurant that apparently does well with the locals. I, on the other hand, not impressed. Born and raised in Hawaii and lived on Maui before leaving. Service average as they were not friendly and barely smiled. Acted like they didn't want to be there. The prices are pretty high for the quality of their food. Tasteless beef and fish. The only food we liked was the shoyu chicken.

This was our first meal in Maui. I read through the recent reviews on Google and Yelp so I was excited to try this place. Needless to say I wasn’t disappointed. We were greeted when we walked in, place was clean, and our food got to us fast. Ample parking. Employees were pleasant. Portions were big. We got the Asian crusted mahi, furikake mochiko chicken, and ube cheesecake. The fish and chicken were not dry and were quite flavorful.

Delicious food and very welcoming staff. This was the first place we went to after arriving on Maui. Slow roasted pork w/ gravy, rice and Mac + shrimp omelette were very good! Try it out!

Good spot for a traditional Hawaiian lunch plate. We got the Korean chicken plate which was the best of the 3 items we got, the Teri beef, and the crinkle cut fries with hurricane sauce. The fries and the sauce were a bit bland despite the sauce being on them so that was a bit disappointing. The Teri beef was okay (a bit dry and chewy) but the Korean chicken was definitely the redeeming factor of this meal. Perfect flavor, and a hefty portion!

This was one of my first official Maui Meals, and it was great to give it a try. This place has a huge parking lot, and there is quite a good amount of seating inside. There are even tables that can fit over 8 people. It is a place that you first order, and once you sit down, they will bring the food to you. Food I decided to try a few different items here. Side of Brussels Sprouts (Hurricane Sauce) This was not bad, the Brussels sprouts was cooked to crispy, and the sauce is great to balance the dish out Loco Moco- This was my first experience eating loco moco in Hawaii, the portion was pretty huge, there was a few beef patties inside. Big Kahuna - This had a mixture of mochiko chicken, Asian Crusted Mahi, and also hamburger steak. I was more of a fan of the Crusted Mahi, Beef Teriyaki Plate- Keep in mind that it does cost more money if you were to request a sauce like the hurricane. Overall this was a great start, definitely better then our Hawaiian BBQ places back in California. The people working here were nice, and helpful regarding what we should get. The wait was not too long, and we were able to get seating quite fast. They do have high chairs for kids.

First tried this place at their food truck location. Their fish done Ala Kalei and Brussel sprouts are my favorites. My daughter likes their hurricane fries. We recently tried their Cheap Eats shoyu chicken, hamburger steak and chili with hotdog and all were really good for the price! They also had mud pie on special and it was amazing! We also love how a few other restaurants do their mud pie, but after a heavy meal, it’s hard to fully enjoy. It was so great that we could take out our mud pie and enjoyed it later that evening. So ono! Young gals were very friendly and helpful! They have a lot of other dessert items we want to try on our next visits.

Love this place. We found our go-to plate lunch restaurant. Their Crispy Chili Garlic Shrimp was perfect. Each deveined shrimp was large and juicy on the inside, crisped perfectly on the outside. The batter on the shell with the chili garlic bits was perfectly fried. We also got the Big Kahuna (comes with Mochiko chicken; hamburger steak with gravy, mushrooms, and onions; and crusted Mahi). All the good things you'd want on a plate. The saimin was a good addition to complete the meal. The broth was soothing and the noodles were perfectly chewy. Everything was well-cooked/fried and not overly greasy. We left feeling satisfied, but not heavy. So good! Edit: My spouse read my review and said I didn't emphasize how good the fish was in the Big Kahuna, and how great and soothing the saimin and its broth are to balance the meal. ✌️
