I really want to like this place and I appreciate what they are doing.😃 It takes a tremendous amount of time and volunteers to keep something like this going.👩🔧 I admire and appreciate how much they've accomplished.🙌🏻
The airplanes are outdoors and subjected to some pretty tough winter weather up here. 🌨️It's a rather depressed area decades after the boom time when it was operational. 😟It's kind of depressing and sad to see the planes just sitting there. But they are cared for. The signage is very good.👍🏻 It's one of the few places you can see a Voodoo!👹
Please stop and make a donation 💵if it's on your way.
Or visit their website and buy one of their many license plates. If you are in an RV you can spend the night in the parking lot of the museum building, which is pretty much a community center that has been repurposed.
I went there and had missed their open hours but I got a chance to talk to a gentleman there and I will definitely be finding time to get in there when they're open He's just full of information I can't wait to hear all the knowledge and wisdom he has in regards to airplanes I hope more people make the trip out there it is worth it fantastic gentleman and his wife run the place and it's just a beautiful experience if you want to know something new it's a place to go
A cache of information on the site of the former K.I. Sawyer AFB. They have quite a few artifacts from the base in several displays, and a small shop. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you may have.
Don't forget to visit the aircraft static displays about a block from the museum!
It has so much to see that I didn't know about. I enjoyed the tour and will be back
They are having a Reunion of members of the 87th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS) on August 19th of 2023. I will be busy at another gathering at Holland Tunnel Park.
Very nice small museum featuring artifacts and history from the Sawyer Airforce Base. Operational from the mid 50's to 1995. A good 2 or 3 hours here.
Very nice to see some of the history of the base. Loved the airplanes too!
This place is amazing so full of air Force and KI history. You can go back multiple times and find something new or something you didn't see last time. The people who run this place are amazing and do a great job with what little help and resources they have. They also sponsor local scouting programs and help their community in any way they can. Truly a diamond in the rough and well worth the trip to see. Admission I believe is free with donations always welcome. They also have a little gift shop. A must see for any history buff or family looking for a cool outing.

Great little Park! Nice covered bridge to sit on while listening to the river. Plenty of shade to enjoy on warm days. The Armed Services Memorial is really well done ð.
The food was so amazing. Best french dip I have ever had. Service was friendly and timely. Definitely recommend!! We will be returning often when we are in The area.
We stayed in the apparent and they had just remodeled it. New furniture, very nice. Soap and Shampoo provided in a cute little bag, nice touch. Soft towels and comfortable pillows. My husband made a inquiry about how one of the lights worked, an
