My wife and I stayed two nights before embarking on a two-day cruise from Juneau and could not have been happier with the hotel. The room (a two-room suite with kitchentte) was large, comfortable and clean. The desk staff were very friendly and very helpful with information about the sites, taxis and restaurants. ||The location is not as central as other downtown hotels, but it is only a five minute walk to the grocery store and the best breakfast restaurant in town, and only 10 minutes to the shopping/tourist center. Also, it is very close to the channel, near a nice park, with great views and bald eagles circling overhead.
This was the perfect lodging choice for our stay in Juneau with providing plenty of space in this suite(more like an apartment). We didn't do any cooking but having a full size refrigerator for our drinks and breakfast items was really appreciated. We did utilize the washer and dryer in the room which was convenient. Truly appreciated the shuttle service that got us to and from the airport and ferry terminal. They stored our luggage while we went to Haines/Skagway for 4 days and returned for our final day of stay which saved us lugging them along or paying for storage at the airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located by the busy road but we were exhausted from our adventures that the noisy traffic didn't bother us at all.
We had a suite queen on the lower floor backside. It is a older hotel but the room was huge with kitchen. We bought groceries at a local store and cooked most of our meals . You will save lots of money like this. The traffic didn’t bother us at all, after a long day of activities sleep was easy. If your high end luxury maybe this isn’t for you for us skipping the turn down service and room service was well worth it. On my next visit to Juneau this hotel is my choice, I just love this huge room. Checkin is a stated. If you need laundry done just ask at the front desk and they will arrange it.
Do not stay here. From the time we arrived, this two night stay has been a complete disaster. We booked this place in February for an August trip and when we showed up to check in on they had our reservation wrong and it took over 45 minutes and several phone calls to the management for the staff to get into the two rooms for two nights we had booked. Then they gave us keys to the wrong room or that did not work four times. FOUR. They did not have our reservation (did not even want our confirmation number) or any way to pull it up in their system. And forget about having your room serviced while you are here. We asked three times to have towels brought to our room and the trash emptied but it did not happen until my husband finally complained at the desk and then they told us everyone had left for the day. For the price and location (which is a 15 minute walk from downtown and no Ubers available) do yourself a favor and spend a little more to stay closer to downtown and at a place that actually will keep your reservation. What a disappointment.
The hotel is away from town and since I have some mobility issues, we rented a car to get to restaurants/sights. The mattress in room 1413 needs to be replaced as it is sagging in the center. We utilized the laundry facilities and enjoyed the park nearby. They do provide airport shuttle from 5am-11pm which we used coming and going. I did hear the street noise, people and cars.
Great hotel! We had a queen suite (6 night stay). Close to everything, yet away from the busy. Hotel was clean, vaulted ceilings made it feel more like apartment than hotel. Kitchenette was so nice too. They had a filter under the sink, we had great drinking water too. ||I was concerned about some reviews, so glad I chose it. We had a problem with our reservation (not mine Conceirge). Me being me, called myself to check. Lyn helped me with the booking problem. Had she not helped me, I would have had an extra charge at arrival. Thanks to her, it was taken care of and we had no problems. |They really care and take care of your situation. I was so impressed with their service. ||General Mgr was so nice and helpful too. They gave us great recommendations. We had shuttle to rental car. The park across the street is beautiful. Easy walks to get around. ||We had a great time, great location. Close to everything. Will definitely think about again.
This hotel always has super friendly, helpful staff. Spacious, nice rooms with kitchenette (washer/dryer, stove, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, pots, pans, cutlery, coffee-maker) and it's quiet, and comfortable. When we arrived the heat wasn't working, and the maintenance guy was there within minutes, and checked back later to make sure we were happy. Convenient (walking distance) to downtown, steps away from a beautiful waterfront boardwalk. Rooms haven't been updated for a while, but they're not showing signs of wear.
I would have given Juneau Hotel a full 5 circles BUT! Right under the bedroom is the boiler for the hotel, and it was loud enough that I had to go and buy earplugs! We stayed five nights and the first two nights I hardly slept. The earplugs helped but I didn't like sleeping with these things in my ears that didn't stay in my ears very well, it was such a struggle. After the second sleepless night I went to the service desk and asked what was that loud annoying noise in our room, that is when I found out it was the boiler! I asked if we could have a different room and they could not give us a different room because they were booked up for the next six weeks. I asked if we could get a 20% discount off of our total bill and they said they couldn't do that. I than asked to speak with the manager (I later found out the manager was one of the hotel owners from the driver who took us to the airport on the day we left.) I was told that the manager would not be in the office until Monday, we left on Tuesday, it was Saturday when I finally expressed my dissatisfaction with our room. Finally the assistant manager agreed offered a discount of $60 off of the entire bill.||My husband and I really liked our room accommodations, a kitchen with everything you need to cook a full meal, a comfortable sofa (sofa bed) to relax and watch tv or read or just take a nap. Bedroom was a nice size with dressers and a closet with plenty of hangers to hang your clothes should you want to hang them, comfortable bed, and really good pillows (I'm really picky about my pillows).||Do not stay in ROOM 1414 you will not get a good night's rest unless you are deaf, drunk as a skunk, or exhausted! |
I've booked dozens upon dozens of faceless corporate hotels while traveling for work and it was refreshing to stay somewhere with actual personality and character. Silverbow is incredibly charming and intimate. After a few days I felt at home and was
Taku Lodge was amazing. The staff to the views. I couldn't get over the view of the glaciers. The salmon lunch was fantastic! After lunch, we got to hear all about the previous owners of the lodge. Then on to a nature walk. The whole place is an expe
This shop is real authentic! Small shop but very welcoming. I went to Alaska looking for some buds and The Fireweed Factory delivered! Solid prices for their product. Will definitely come back during my stay.
Short walk from the cruise area if you're looking for a chill local bar to go to. Reasonable prices. I recommend a beer flight, three-four ounce pours for only $12 plus tax. Didn't try their food but it smelled awesome. Upscale looks without the upsc
Amazing beers!! Great vibes!!
We enjoyed the beers & the popcorn at BBC! Every customer at the brewery seemed to be having a great time and it was such a happy vibe! Enjoyed being there!
The rescued cat, Simcoe, also did his bit to keep everyone en
We stopped into this little bookstore during a cruise stop in Juneau. The store, with its adorably creaky wood floors and aesthetically arranged books, has a wide variety of used books, many focused on Alaska. The bookstore clerk engaged in friendly
Excellent fresh seafood with outdoor setting and a fun atmosphere.
The best tacos - they are delicious, and so are the loaded fries. Thereâs a reason why so many locals and your guides recommend visiting this place!
Queues can be long during luncht
Nice & easy walking path to get here if you have decent mobility. Not ideal for limited mobility. Great signage. You can't get lost. Saw lots of small wildlife, like mice & birds. Someone reported seeing a bear, but we didn't see it. You can get so c
Very well done in cute little park. Convenient to just sit down and see the sights. Restrooms are available that were clean and warm in the area was exceedingly dog friendly as it was wide open.
Great Nordic skiing today. My first day. Lots of people with and without their doggo companions. Good skiing. Good snowpack for walking!! I do believe spring will come. I heard the birds!!
WOW!! We saw Pucker Wilsonâs on an episode of DDD as we were planning a trip to Alaska. We knew we wanted to try it then. Thankfully everything worked out in our favor and we were able to! We had a cheeseburger, the special of the day, and the cowb
