Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum - History museum in Savannah - 10 E Oglethorpe Ave, USA

On a recent trip to Savannah with my sister, we took a tour of Juliette Gordon Low's birthplace. We were excited because each of us had been Girl Scouts, and our mother was a leader. We paid for tickets online, which was nice because we could choose the time we wanted and didn't have to wait in any lines. The tour guide was enthusiastic and well-informed. She made it fun and educational for the adults and children on the tour. I've posted several photos. Note the porcelain elephant in the bathroom. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who has been involved in Girl Scouts. I learned so much and have a deeper appreciation for the founder of the Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low.

Beautiful home! The tour gave us an excellent view into the life and family of Juliette Gordon Low leading up to her founding of the Girl Scouts of America. Our tour guide was very informative and the home itself is something out of a novel. The tour itself was roughly 45 minutes with a walk through her birthplace, but was indeed a good place to cool off from the heat. There is a small gift shop at the end that has a mix of Girl Scout memorabilia and other goods made by women creators. Highly recommend!

Our group was 11 Alumni scouts from Roundup 1965. We were welcomed with open arms and had a wonderful tour of the newly reimagined birth place. The building is totally hanicap accessible and program areas are interactive and varied to engage all ages and interests. I would recommend a trip to Savanna not only for a visit to the Birthplace but to the city itself. Lovely gardens, so much history and, and welcoming, helpful people.

Our tour was absolutely amazing! Ms. Judy did such a terrific job explaining the history and answering all of our questions during the tour! 20 years ago, I did this tour with my girl scout troop at the time. I definitely appreciated and enjoyed this tour alot more! The gift shop was a definite bonus with the remodel!!!

This was a fantastic experience, particularly for my Girl Scout cadette. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about both Girl Scouts and the home. The house was beautiful. You can even get special patches and a pin that is unique to active scouts who have visited.

Very cool touring the home and getting to know more of the history of Daisy and the girl scouts. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. She did kind of breeze past the mention of enslaved people working in the home without really denouncing that, which was not atypical, but also not great. That being said, the tour was highly accessible which was very nice and fairly inclusive in other ways.

I want to tell the story of how I picked for my vacation to be in Savannah because I always wanted to go to this house/museum, but that’s far too long. Just know this place made my little Brownie heart so happy and I got my badge for visiting. Eva was a wonderful guide and they were very accommodating for my pregnancy. Thank you again for the best visit and keeping this beautiful piece of Girl Scout history alive!

I love what they’ve dime with the place and the tour. A longtime visitor and 6 year resident of Savannah I’ve seen the changes. The new facility is accessible, interactive and retains the original charm. I’m a Girl Scout and this site does Juliette proud!
