This is my favorite place on earth to re-connect with my husband and get away from it all. We have been to the hotel so many times that we have finally stayed in all of the room styles! The staff is wonderful, the full breakfast is DELICIOUS. The parlor is so beautiful, we love playing games and listening to the 40's music. I love being in Julian after the tourists leave and walking up and down the streets looking at the stars. The price is fantastic for what you get. Highly recommend this B&B. I hope it stays around forever. We love visiting!! Thank you!!

Stayed one night for our anniversary. The location is great in the small town we could walk to everything. The property is cute and the rooms quaint. We were in room 20 which shares a door with the dining room so we could hear breakfast in the morning. The bed was super uncomfortable and the pillows were flat and lumpy, in desperate need of replacing. The room overall was clean and a good size for two. Breakfast was delicious but was all carbs- fruit, waffle, more fruit, two spoonfuls of yogurt and a small bowl of about ⅓ cup granola. It really needed some eggs or meat. Street parking was free and easy to find. Was a nice place to stay for a small getaway to Julian overall.

Fantastic BNB experience! Superbly comfortable and clean room and bedroom. Service was great, super cheerful and helpful. Amazing decor, and very clean. Bathroom was completely dialed in. Great location as you can walk to everything from here. Wonderful breakfast and great coffee!

Amazing experience. A time capsule with grand piano that reverberates through the walls of the hotel. Just outside you can step.in an area perfect for star gazing..it really feels like an imax. Additionally the break fast was dope!

This hotel is in a great location for exploring Julian. We had no trouble finding street parking on a Friday night. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We reserved a second story room that is advertised as original and intimate which means small as in very small. Our bed was so close to the wall that you could only access the bed from one side. The bathroom was also small but clean and functional. The shower is a small stall shower (like a phone booth) with a shower curtain that sticks to your legs when you shower. Breakfast was served in the downstairs parlor and the staff was very efficient. Breakfast consisted of two courses. The first course on both days was granola with milk and juice. On the first day, the second course was half of a waffle with some sliced fruit and on the second day was some sort of polenta egg dish with toasted bread (bread was quite tasty). Neither my wife nor I thought the breakfast was as good as other B&B’s we have stayed in and was not a highlight for us. If you enjoy having a more normal sized room, we suggest you avoid the second story rooms. Overall, our stay was OK but we would not return.

My husband and I went to Julian for our 54th wedding anniversary. We had wanted to visit this little town for a while and saw this hotel on Trip Advisor as a great choice. We were not at all disappointed. The rooms were adorable, the staff, especially Lisa was excellent, and the breakfasts were fabulous. There is not much to do in the sleepy town this time of year, but it was very relaxing and the hotel was wonderful with beautiful appointments of memorabilia and old fashion music playing. A wonderful experience I highly recommend.

Second time to stay at this really unique hotel. Perched right on Main street in downtown Julian. Was first time there in March and the weather help to transform that quaint little gem of a town into an even more extraordinary experience. Our room this time was just as cute as the last time and a great nights sleep was just what my wife and I needed. I would recommend this hotel for many reasons which is why we can't wait to return.

A total step back in time. A truly authentic gold rush feel, complete with original decor, ceiling fans, iron framed beds & the most attentive welcome. The rooms were all individual-all different & all fairly small-like they would have been-but a fabulously comfy bed. We slept so well. |And breakfast-all included-was homemade granola & waffles with cinnamon stewed apples, accompanied by the theme tune to Rawhide & 1940’s hits. Glorious.
