Judy's On Cherry - Restaurant in Reading - 30 S 4th St, USA

We enjoyed a beautifully prepared dinner on a very busy weekend evening. Service was excellent, and every bite was delicious. We will definitely be back! We drove 1.5 hours just to check it out and it was worth the drive!

In the Reading area for a work assignment. Stumbled on this very unassuming place and decided to venture in as I had read a few reviews online the week earlier...sounded nice but def understated in reviews. Upon entering the establishment, all spaces/elements I experienced felt very alive - I knew I found myself a gem, only left to see if the food would be cohesive with the appealing concept of the space. Warm & Classy Contemporary; the colors, music, ambiance, smells, lighting and friendliness of staff...a warm welcome and great smooth jazz playing. Everything perfect, colorful artwork, lovely tables settings, lighting concepts. I believe it may have the owner who sat me and proceeded to get specifics from the chefs as to exact ingredients in the soup of the day, right down to the stock used. Then, greeted by a friendly waitstaff, extremely knowledgeable with the menu and helpful as it was difficult to make a selection. The wine selections for Chardonnay we're all new to me, but as all other aspects of this place we're perfect. I did it up...app, soup, entree' and take home for a full meal w/ the Braised Lamb Shank. Everything ordered was over the top in flavor, (contemporary & comfy food mix) presentation and freshness/integrity of ingredients. A dining experience you must try if anywhere in the area. Walked in with a smile on my face and left with a big smile. A shame I don't live in the area, this would be a regular and certainly a favorite of mine. Hope to make it back before I leave!

My husband took me to Judy's on Cherry to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. This was the best dining experience that we have had ever! Our server Manue was great, very attentive and friendly. Our food was excellent, so beautifully presented and delicious! We had the coconut cake for dessert, which was awesome and Judy even stopped by our table to wish me a Happy Birthday!! Love everything from the beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff and the delicious food!! It is well worth the 90 minute drive for us! Can't wait to go back again! We must have hit a bad night. The atmosphere is great. The menu is varied and interesting. The food tasted good but some portions were really small while the caesar salad was overloaded with kale and not much of the other promised ingredients. The kitchen and service was very slow. Appetizers came at a slow but acceptable pace. We ordered salads for our main course but they didn't arrive for an hour after we ordered. We had to ask for our water to be refilled. Otherwise, we received no attention during that hour. No acknowledgement when we inquired if our order was lost. We decided to skip dessert because we were concerned about how much longer that would take. Wait staff discussed a problem they were having as they served our food. My companion said she would be willing to give it a second chance.

This place is a favorite of mine since my first time traveling to Reading 10 years ago. Put this on your bucket list and enjoy a relaxed dinner with superb staff and atmosphere!

Fantastic menu. We had the gluten free pizza. Excellent choice. My wife has celiacs gluten allergy. Great options and knowledgeable staff where this is concerned. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or a dinner out with friends or family. Great dessert and drink menu. The whole evening was outstanding. Can't wait to go back to Reading and try more of the selections.

After searching restaurants, I decided on Judy's on Cherry and let me tell you from start to finish this was a great foodie experience. We arrived to a packed restaurant at 6pm on a Friday, our waitress was kind, speedy. My wife said the Casuela Roast of Jersey Scallops with caramelized onions, & sherry vinegar butter was exceptional and I had an amazing medium rare Filet Mignon with Gorgonzola Butter. Both of our orders came with whipped potatoes, carrots and green beans. My wife was disappointed that two times the waitress came back saying the dessert she wanted was out, she opted for the Carrot cake and was pleased with it. I devoured the Marquis au Chocolate GF a decadent layer of chocolate cake topped with a dark chocolate mousse. What made this place stand out, is the dessert was on the house since two of the items were unavailable. All in all this was a great experience and evening, and I would recommend Judy's on Cherry.

What a great find. The food was fresh, balanced and a great mix of fresh ideas and just well seasoned dishes. Staff was friendly, attentive and knew the dishes they were serving. Diverse wine menu. Can’t wait to come back.
