Joshua Tree Ranch House - Featured Reviews (65)
I see a lot of negative reviews on here and I just wanted to chime in that my wife and I had a 100% positive experience and loved our time at the JTree Ranch House! We stayed there mid-pandemic in July 2020. Caan and his partner were nothing but wonderful, welcoming, friendly and helpful. I’m from NYC and live in LA, the pace is slower in JTree that’s why most of us go there, I can’t speak to others’ experiences with lack of communication - but that was not our experience at all, we booked everything on Airbnb and had no issues communicating with Caan. Unless the guy has become a different person in the past 4 years I’m simply not buying these bad, weird reviews. I was looking up the place bc my wife and I are planning to return in the near future. Caan I hope you see this and I hope you’re well. Thanks for helping us create some great memories in JTree!
The online photos do not present an accurate picture of the motel. There is no onsite manager. We were unable to contact the manager through the phone number provided. The doors of the units were open and sheets hung outside on chairs. We later learned there was a bedbug infestation. We were offered a refund but never received it.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Joshua Tree Ranch House. The room is clean, the design is very well thought through and the owner is super friendly and welcoming. We loved the fact that we could walk to several restaurants and cafes. The drive to the park's west entrance was short, so we went hiking very early in the morning, came back during lunch time when it was too hot and spent some time at the pool before we returned to the National Park for stargazing at night. We would recommend everyone to stay here.
This is kind of a motel in rustic style. Decorated with cute stuff probably from a thrift store, but with clean, nearly new kitchen equipment, good wifi (no television, but we could watch television on our iPads), great airco (to warm the room during our stay when it was cold) and a small clean bathroom (except for the desert cockroach I saw one night). But there were some issues that were not so good/cute: no white bed linen, only 2 ‘colorful’ beachtowels instead of a set of towels, spiderwebs in the corners and lamps, the seating of the chair was demolished (they put a sheephide on it to cover this up) and the cupboards under the sink were very dirty. Overall, it was okay for the price: close to the west entrance of Joshua Tree NP, parking in front of our room, on walking distance of some restaurants and shops.
AVOID this place! We arrived ready for check-in at 3pm after a long drive, only to be told the room wasn't ready for another 30 mins - it was actually an hour before the room was made available, complete with wet, bleach-smelling floor. There was significant leaking in both the kitchen and the bathroom, and our hot water didn't work.|After multiple attempts to contact management we were moved to a better room the following day, and were promised a refund on our first night. After more attempts to contact management to secure the refund, no refund has been forthcoming. This place really spoilt Joshua Tree for us.
Even though we had told Caan we should be there around 6 pm, and gave him a 30-minute heads up, we had to wait for our room to finish being cleaned. Then the room was not well insulated so you can hear everything around. Even people just walking across the parking lot. The bed was so uncomfortable we both had back issues after the 1st day. We had to request hand towels and toilet paper. (We talked to 4 other rooms that all were waiting for TP that day...) The second morning I could barely walk because of the uncomfortable bed and the shower dripping all night I was unable to sleep for 2 nights. The pool that is open year-round is not heated and way too cold to swim in. It's hard to get a hold of any one as you only get a text and he rarely answers back, if he does it is a long time later... Caan had cancelled a guest's reservation because he didn't want to clean the room or something... When another couple showed up and there were people already in their room things got interesting. He then all the sudden had a room for the he just needed to clean it... Managment here is joke!!! We requested an early check-out and refund because of the conditions of the hotel. We have been ignored by Caan and the owner. The only thing I liked about the place was the French press coffee pot. The reto decorations were also kind of cute...
Terrible communication, as in "non-existent" communication skills. I placed a booking here, got no email confirmation of any sort. I called the listed numbers, texted them, emailed him, just to see if he received the reservation. After a couple days of no response, I wrote again to cancel the reservation, since I didn't want to risk depending on somebody who doesn't seem to have a great track record at providing the reservations (based on reading many of his other reviews). Still haven't heard anything back from him. Update: I noticed it took him 7 months to respond to me. Guess the only thing worse than his customer service skills is his sense of humor.
My first time in Joshua Tree and we stayed at Casa Luisa! It was the most amazing stay ever! The house was clean, decorated really cute, and close proximity to the park and town! Joel was super easy to get in contact with as well! I canât wait to s
I love that they keep some of the Cambodian recipes from the original owner in the menu. Really great place for breakfast and people watching. The tres leches pancakes were unreal. Had a hard time keeping them away from the rest of table. Shredded ha
A free and enjoyable reclaimed material art display in the middle of the desert. To some it may look like junk, but there is definitely an element of real art to many of the pieces. Itâs worth seeing considering the fact of how unique it is and def
I ordered the vanilla latte and it was delish! Not too sweet which is perfect! Service was nice and it's a cute little coffee shop with nice decor and a cute little patio area. Will continue to come here when I go to Joshua Tree NP.
