Best breakfast in Rockford, no question. The food is excellent, the staff is hard working in the face of being so busy, yet they make it work extremely well, and stay happy and friendly! Plenty of food to fill you up, the coldest, freshest milk in town, and a menu chock full of reasonably priced deliciousness from breakfast to supper! Highly recommend!!

Extremely busy, kept finding myself dodging waitresses waiting for a table because there was no waiting room for a seat. Even so, staff was still very friendly even with the rush, I'm sure they're used to it. Lots of parking, even if getting out may be busy due to location. Enter one way exit the other. Ordered a skillet and it was NOT shy, tons of ingredients and TONS of cheese. The biscuits and gravy were fine, but I like mine spicy. The pancakes were dense and were a little lacking for me. Going to try the waffle next time. Ill definitely come here again, prices were good and service was great even if the staff were getting beat up by the rush. Food wasn't THE BEST I've ever had, but I wasn't looking for that. Just a good breakfast joint nothing fancy. All in all it was a good spot and the popularity shows that. I'll be back again for sure.

This restaurant is awesome! My server was professional, friendly and attentive! And my coffee cup was never empty!! I love this restaurant!!!

My wife and I cannot say enough about this place. Aside from the food being delicious and the servers being spectacular, we love George and Manuel. There is never a moment where our drinks, and/or coffee cup have been empty. This whole crew teams up and works together. We recently went to another place because Johnny Pamcakes was packed and we regretted it. Not because the food was bad, but because the servers and the bussers strictly kept to their own areas. I totally get that, but if you walked past me with a pot of coffee to the table behind me, and you see my cup is on the edge of the table and empty, it takes five seconds of your time to fill my cup and do a solid for your counterpart. Other restaurants in Rockford should visit Johnny Pamcakes to get a lesson in excellent hospitality. I don't care how good the food is at a restaurant but if I have an empty cup or a request for something and I see your staff standing around and checking their phones, I'll never be back.

All of the food ordered was cold. Coffee was so weak you could see through it. Everything was bland. Ordered a steak and eggs. The steak was half raw. The eggs were small and also cold. Too many plates came out and not enough table space. I’m sure there are other places serving HOT breakfast! Not worth the money! I would give this place a ZERO, but the pancakes were DELICIOUS!

We went to this place when visiting some friends in Rockford. It was on Memorial Day, and it seems like people always had to wait for a seat. For the food, we tried the skillet, Swedish pancake, stuffed French toast, etc. I liked the skillet and the Swedish pancakes. Overall the quality was fine, nothing really impressive or special.

Very disappointed. When paying I was told there was a charge to use my debit card. I opted to pay cash instead. The bill was a bit over $61.00. Since I have difficulty walking I asked the cashier if I could leave the tip at the desk. She said yes, she'd give it to the waitress. I gave her a fifty and a twenty. She kept all the change and started to hand it to the waitress. I started to object as I should decide how much to tip, not the cashier. She got a very nasty look on her face & said, in a snippy tone, that she was doing what I'd asked her to. I only asked if I could leave the tip there. I did not tell her to determine how much of a tip I would want to leave. I was very angry that she kept all MY money without asking how much I choose to leave. Her attitude was terrible, complete with the very nasty look she gave me. Rather than take a chance that I might be creating a scene, I left. That was this afternoon and I'm still angry.

We hadn't been here in quite some time, always too busy when we drive past. We stopped 30 minutes before closing. We were welcomed in and told not to worry about the time. Quick, friendly service, good food, all around good experience.
