Joe's Bar - Cocktail bar in Chico - 749 W 5th St, USA

Denied my friend with a real ID entry saying it was fake. New bouncer does not know what he is doing. Lost out on 8 peoples business. Do not go to this power hungry bar.

Would not let me and my friends in because there id said 6ft and my friend is about 5’11 and the bartender said ur not 6ft ur not getting in and your buddy’s can’t come in

Immature child in the pink tie die poured my drink on the floor. I was just listening to a song on my phone that we paid for on the juke box that never played. The 3 servers were very rude when there was another table full of people. Female bar tender supported it the bouncer and short male bar tender pouring my drink out and all 3 approached me very aggressively and unprofessionally. So inconsiderate. Kicked us out 40 minutes before their 2am closing time and we had tipped them well.

Was at joes last night on the second. Some friends came into town to visit and joes is our favorite spot to have drinks and visit. A half hour before closing a gentleman with short dark hair who was working there came up while me and my friends were talking at a table and told us we had to leave it’s closing. We said ok no problem your sign says we still have a half hour let us finish our drinks you just let us purchase and we’ll be out of here in fifteen minutes. He became super hostile and grabbed one of the females I was with by the wrist and shoved her drink down even though there was a table of ten girls partying with them all. After witnessing him putting his hands On a female friend and completely escalating a situation he had no reason to. I will not be coming back to joes. I will especially tell anyone who asks in the Chico area where to get a good drink to stay far away. I’m so disappointed my favorite establishment treated me this way.

I always judge a bar on the cleanliness of their bathroom. Joe's Bar has one of the cleanest bars in downtown Chico. It is always stocked with the essentials. The owner is super nice. The bartenders are great at what they do. I will definitely be returning.

Have yet been able to order a drink here. Too crowded! Only go with friends and end up chatting in the back where you can barely hear each other. Great place if you like rubbing up against strangers and praying you don't get punched for grinding on some dude's girl or spilling his drink.

Joe's used to be the only bar I went to. Good place to grab drinks. Lately it's been pretty packed when I go, usually filled with the true country folk. If you get there early enough you can get a table on busy nights. Takes a couple minutes to get to the bathroom when its busy. Excellent place to drink and hang out when its slower though.

Remember the good 'ol days with bowls of peanuts for the taking and saw dust all over the floor? Still got some saw dust, but you buy the peanuts now. Friendly bartenders and good stiff drinks. Blue collar working crowd after work, then turns into the typical college bar in the later evening. Smoking area in the back and the restrooms are well kept
