Wow. Do not pass this gem by. Tucked away in a plaza in San Gabriel valley is a Chinese bakery with some deliciously crafted and reasonably priced treats.
Do not sleep on the po tarts. If you only get one thing, get these. Deliciously fluffy and smooth egg custard is nestled in some of the flakiest softest pastry dough I’ve had. Ours were fresh out of the oven, which made them taste incredible. Be warned though - they can run out. If you really want to lock some down, you can special order ahead of time.
I would also highly recommend the taro delight, which is a ball of taro paste housed in a swirl of purple dough. Then pastry was light - and the filling was light, smooth and not too sweet. We also enjoyed the napoleon, flaky pastry lightly layered with walnuts and some sort of cream layered in. The pork floss bun was interesting, a fluffy roll with a sweet pork coating. Next time I would be interested to try more of their savory offerings as well. They also make beautiful cakes and fruit tarts to order as well.
The interior is small and simple, with only one table as an option for seating so the shop is more of just a place to grab your goods as opposed to sitting for a while. I would highly recommend to stop in to experience the goodness!!
Best portuguese egg tarts in town, by far. Others look the same. But the ones here have buttery, flaky crust and delicate, not overly-sweet, smooth custard. Sometimes they sell out, so go early. Good curry puffs as well, when they are hot out if the oven.
The bakery has really good po tarts especially when you catch them when they come right out of the oven! I also like their baked BBQ pork baos. The chocolate roll cake was only okay.
Indulge in egg tart perfection at Jims Bakery in San Gabriel Valley. Their Portuguese egg tarts are a heavenly treat with a flaky pastry and luscious custard filling. The flavors will whisk you away to Portugal. Don't miss out on these delectable delights!
1 st time try their Pastéis De Nata aka Portuguese egg tart. It is very good. Not too sweet, creamy fillings. Flavor is good, not too strng, the reason why I give it a 4 star is the bakery has no dining space. As a bakery itself, it pretty good. If there's dining space with some beverages, coffee, milk tea, etc. That would be ideal these days. Will be back to try their Hong Kong egg tart.
Their meat pastries and their egg tarts are very good. I'd come back for that.
If you’re looking for the most amazing egg tart’s Jim’s is the place to go! Grab a pineapple bun while you’re here!
Get their Mango cake if you come here because you won't regret it. Their Mango cake is delicious and spot on. There plenty of parking here so you shouldn't have any issues finding a spot. You order at the front entrance because they closed off the inside of the store. They do get busy later in the day but if you come in the morning, you shouldn't have any issues. My sister also got their Steamed BBQ bun here and she liked it.

Very clean and cute inside. I ordered the Oolong Milk Tea with Tiramisu Puff. It's super delicious and on the sweeter side.
My father ordered a Smokey Coffee Milk Tea and was really surprised how good it was (he's more of a black 2 cream and 2 sugar
