Jefferson County Fairgrounds - Featured Reviews (176)
Location is fine and easy to get to. The bathrooms/showers have week water pressure but stays hot for as long as you want it to stay hot for. They do have heaters in there but I think the people that run the campgrounds there unplugged them from their power source because they don't turn on anymore and it's freezing in there when you're taking a shower and I don't think I'm the only one who doesn't like being freezing during and after their shower...
The Fairgrounds campgrounds are a good place to stay. Coded entry for campers to the bathrooms and showers. Nothing fancy but works well. There are almost always spots available. Fort Warden almost always is full so this is a great back up.|The past issues have gone away. I live near the fairgrounds and see the conditions almost every day.
This campground is located at the far end of the county fairgrounds. It is fairly tidy, has restrooms, electricity hookups, and is in a nice quiet neighborhood about a 1/2 mile from the beach. It's about 7 minutes from town, with a bus stop nearby. It allows pets and is next to an old track that's nice for short dog walks. There is no privacy between the small sites--no trees, no bushes--so you are on view and relying on the good manners of your neighbors.
Close to home, the deer roam freely around Port Townsend. These two went around my front yard grazing, and they went over to the campground while I was trying to get the pictures without getting too close. They have almost no fear of people, but remember, they are still wild animals, be safe, and keep your distance. They have beautiful coats with no visible mange. They're well muscled and look extremely healthy. Be very careful driving around them. They're unpredictable around traffic, give them the right of way, and go very slowly.
Conveniently located near Port Townsend and Ft. Worden. Beach access is about 1/2 mile away.
Sites are a bare minimum. No trees, narrow sites, only a few picnic tables. No fire pits, but they do allow fire pans.
When we visited, the bathroom/shower was being remodeled and behind schedule. Maybe complete by July 4... but no work being done the week before Memorial Day... just a pile of rubbish piled outside the doors.
No 30 amp plugs on our post. I assume most are the same. 20 amp plugs mounted upside down! 😡 Most rv hookups will have drop cord going up. Electrician should be fired! Our sewar connection was broken... gravel lot was very level.
Fees were okay at $35, but a number of repairs need attention.
Host was very nice and accommodating!
Why did the chicken go to the fair? It wanted to try the “eggs”treme rides.
I give 2*s!!!!
These are only in regards to the campground that the fairgrounds has available not for the fairgrounds as a whole destination
1* for the nice camp host... Teri B. Your a good dude.
&
1* for the hot showers
It's more of an R.V. style campground there is absolutely no protection from the elements should you be in a tent.
Great time, Line Dancing and listening to the band play music. Do want to warn people that if you have Verizon, then ur not going to have any cell service. So, be prepared! Somehow they have this listing place listed as a hotel. This is the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

I went here for my first time today. It was amazing! I had absolutely no idea this museum and restoration shop was even here. This place helps kids get in to aviation too. I loved it. If I didn't live so dang far, I would definitely volunteer as an A
Wonderful park with great play areas and beautiful quiet areas to contemplate the universe. Be sure to check out the bench swing and many secret gardens
We LOVE Marina Cafe! They have lunch everyday that comes with a salad, chips, cookie and soda and whatever hot sandwich/wrap is made for the day. On Thursday through Saturday evenings, they now have tapas, beer, cider and wine and it is the best thin
Our favorite restaurant in Port Townsend! So good we went 2 nights in a row during our trip. We came back for their amazing pasta and ice cream! The seasonal ice cream was apple pie and itâs the best! Their devil eggs and scallops are our favorites
We visited the cafe because of the good reviews. We werenât disappointed.
Imagine being able to fly into the Jefferson County International Airport and share a meal at this quaint Cafe. We drove to the cafe but one can dream! We enjoyed watching
My wife and I drove up from Poulsbo for the day to be tourists. We asked a local merchant for a recommendation. He gave us 3 choices and we chose the Fountain Cafe. Itâs a block from the main road but worth the walk.
