Surprise. Excellent first time experience. This place has the best fried chicken around. I got a two piece white meat chicken combo, with Mac and cheese. It was delicious, love the biscuit, French fries, sweet tea, everything was just absolutely perfect. Really good friendly service, they all work together to make it right.

This place is unbelievable. Totally worth the ride from Raleigh. The wings were huge, juicy and perfectly cooked. Hot honey sauce was really good. Could've been a little hotter but still really tasty. The wings were lightly breaded and not greasy at all. Fried okra was fresh made and the collards were seasoned nicely. Leg and thigh combo was off the hook too. Perfectly cooked and the seasoning is great. Mashed potatoes are real and delicious. Fries are hand cut and fried to perfection. The rest of the menu looked great too. Staff were very friendly and so is the owner. Definitely worth your business.

Stopped by and ordered the Fried Chicken Gizzards platters, which comes with 2 sides. I chose collard greens and fries for the sides. The gizzard was really tasty and crispy. The collard green was also well seasoned. The fries was fresh but could be a little crispier in my opinion. Friendly staff. Quick service. Indoor and outdoor seatings available. Overall the food was delicious!

I was working out in Hillsborough and I was looking for a spot with good fried chicken. The food was by far the best friend chicken, greens, and Mac n cheese I've had since I moved to NC. The chicken was seasoned and fried just right. It had the right crunch and season. The biscuit by itself was good and I'm upset I didn't order an extra one. The customer service was welcoming. I was greeted by the cashier and one of the cooks. It was probably Jay but I didn't ask. LOL This isn't your fancy restaurant but the restaurant where you go to get a good home cooked meal. Will take the drive from Raleigh any day. I will back soon

The place had a funny smell to it. And all of the soft drinks are flat. Few customers were there. If they get rid of that smell maybe I'll come back. But the chicken was seasoned some what. Better than I was expecting anyway.

I have to say that I was totally surprised by the sausage egg and cheese biscuit I got this morning here. I was hungry and was short on time and the drive-thru at McDonald's was around the corner and I kept driving knowing I was still hungry and saw Jay's Chicken sack how to open sign not many cars in the parking lot. I pulled in just to grab a quick biscuit. And oh my God it was so good so delicious the biscuit itself was kind of like a potato roll biscuit. A must-have I will definitely skip McDonald's again and go to Jay's if I'm in the area once more.

The chicken was really tasty. Loved the greens, Mac and cheese, fried okra and mashed potatoes and gravy. Not over seasoned but just right. But the ribs were not good at all. Really tender, but they had a really greasy smell and odd taste. The sauce helped. Besides that the food and service was great.

Reliable, cheap, delicious food in a simple but clean atmosphere. Feels like a place from a bygone era. I come here once a week or so for lunch and have never been let down.
