Great coffee and a great atmosphere. People were really nice! And best of all, the coffee has some power to it, so the rest of your day will go perfectly.
We were hosting a reception for twenty-five people and wanted to have an assortment of desserts to add to the menu. Ordering bars and cookies was the absolutely right choice. Our guests loved the treats and it was the perfect pairing with our menu. If you need desserts for your gathering, I highly recommend Java John's!
The chicken salad salad (ie not the sandwich:) was superb with lots of good toppings. Their bacon asparagus quiche was also very good as were their lattes. They have a porch which is fine if you have your furry friend, but the the indoor restaurant was very inviting.
Cute little cafe. Not my favorite atmosphere but a nice place to visit.

Our first visit to Java John's, Labor Day weekend. Nice setting inside, very reasonable pricing. Cinnamon roll, milk, bottled water, Norwegian waffle plus three bacon strips. $15.00 or so. Bottle of water was more expensive than the milk ($1). Order at the counter, pay and take your number tent and choose a table. [9/22]
I'm not a fan of pre made coffee in a coffee house dying in an air pot, that being said... you ran out? 8 pots and no coffee? On a good note the coffee I had was nicely done but my friend had to wait. I also miss the comforting sofas,chairs and books. The trinkets were a distraction
I had the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. It was one of the best I’ve ever had chuck-full of fresh apples, grapes, loads of meat and great sauce. Also had an absolutely perfect bowl of rommegrot that was delightful. Will be a regular stop from now on.
We live in Milwaukee, but our favorite restaurant is in Decorah. The toughest thing about dining at Rubaiyat is deciding on your beverage and entree. No matter what you choose, you will not be disappointed. Chef Andy creates flavors and combinations
One of my favorite parks in Decorah. It's high above the town, making it very quiet. The overlooks are beautiful and the trails are magical. I highly recommend visiting in the fall as well, as the leaves are just amazing.
I was here for Malanaphy Falls for the Iowa waterfall loop. This was by far my favorite of the day. The hike was nice - less than 20 minutes for me. Just so pretty and relaxing

Reasonably priced hotel in a great location. Breakfast is convenient and not bad for free. Front desk staff could be more engaging. Hotel was very clean and charming.
Hilton/Hampton Inn quality hotel here! Very nice rooms. Clean, spacious and comfy. Large bathrooms with nice showers. Breakfast was good, too. Waffle makers, sausage and eggs, with a selection of cold foods, too.
Amazing BBQ. The pork was very moist. Words canât explain the baked beans, they are the best I have ever had, out of this world flavor. Staff is very nice, 10 out of 10
