Veterans Memorial at Jastro Park. Services held twice a year for recently passed vets. Moving and monumental.
Nice clean park with park maintenance active while we were there. Didn't use the restrooms so I wasn't aware of their condition.
Couldn't let our dog off her leash to play Frisby as there were too many little ones to distract her.
A father had to pull a transient looking man wearing only shorts out of the water spray area. He kindly escorted the man and his female companion away from where all the kids were.
All in all, we felt safe and it was free.
It was a Vibe and We had a Great time at this Clean N Safe Park

Play area was clean and clear of trash. Plenty of benches for parents to sit and watch their children. Plenty of tennis courts, and a lot of trash cans throughout the park. Sad to say that their were vagrants in the large picnic area smoking stuff that was very toxic. Also they were yelling and shouting profanity so loud that the children in the play area could hear so that ruined our play time.
Nice park. From the pictures I can tell this place got a big upgrade. Two new playgrounds, high quality swings, and the only issue is the metal benches that get really hot. Couldn't sit down. Besides that, it's the kind of park you'd expect to see on the nice side of Bakersfield.
Attended The service for the 203 Vets that had recently deceased in the last 6 months. My father's name Gilbert Mendez name was read. Thank you it was nice recognition. The Memorial monument was a nice addition to the park!
Went to the park for a picnic. Kind of in a sad state, along with Trashy people acting trashy. Foul-mouthed yelling, aggressive children bullying other children, homeless people begging for food, and teenagers running amok, jumping on hoods of parked cars while playing tag or hide and seek or whatever else they were doing.
It's close and easy to get to. The camp ground is very nice with alot of trees and the sound of the river, (especially at night when going to sleep), is very peaceful. They have brand new bathrooms and showers . Loved this place will definitely be ba
I can't tell u enough how much I love hiking up and down the bluffs ð family fun! My dog loves it! Really great...my little get away that's just down the street from my pad.
We had a great time playing at the Spray park with my 3 year old daughter. It is pretty busy during the weekend. There is always a birthday party ðððð going on so I think people must reserve the place. Great place to bring your little one
I'm not from bakersfield but seeing this place was magical, the ducks being fed by people, the beauty of the area was honestly breath-taking. It was very lovely experience and I plan to come back with my little family.
It was my first time going here to attend a birthday party and I was immediately stricken with awe, I saw people playing and walking their dogs and children happily at play with their parents, it was a beautiful sight and heartwarming to say the leas
Stopped for dinner in Bakersfield on our way to San Jose. We enjoyed some pupusas - shrimp for hubby & loroco (squash flower) for me. The chicken tamal was very fluffy and had more of a spongy texture. The plantain empanadas were very rich and creamy
