Jasper Ridge Inn Ishpeming - Hotel in Ishpeming - 1000 River Pkwy, USA

We were coming into town for a baby shower and spend some time with friends. Upon checking into the room, there was a used bar of soap in the shower. I picked it up with a Kleenex and tossed. Thinking no big deal, it blended in with the tub. However, we were never able to connect with their WIFI, we both struggled with the room key. Swiping it sometimes up to 10 times trying to get into room #110. Maybe that's the only room with trouble or maybe it was us. If you like a VERY hard bed, this room is for you! We both were having troubles with our back and neck by Saturday morning. It's also for you if you like to hear the tenants above you EVERY STEP! We stayed Friday and Saturday night. The person/persons above us came in around 11 pm and they were up and at em' by 6 am. They left at 7:50 and the cleaning crew were in by 8:00 am. How do I know it was them? The vacuum!! Every step and sweeping motion of the vacuum. This occurred Saturday morning as well. My husband wanted to have a cup of coffee in the room Friday morning and the coffee machine was broke. No Problem, the cleaning lady is across the hall. I just asked her for a new one. She wanted the broken one, no problem, I didn't plan on stealing it! While the location was great for my event that I was attending, next time I will drive in from Marquette, it's only about 30 minutes away.

The cabin was a two bedroom and very comfortable. Kitchen was handy when we didn’t want to eat out. Had to buy a bigger coffee maker because the 4 cup just wasn’t big enough for 4 coffee drinkers. The deck was very large and has a picnic table and that is where we spent most of our time in the morning and evening. We enjoyed ourselves.

The pool was perfect temp as was hot tub. Girl at front desk Sun 8/11/24 seemed disinterested in helping. We had a reservation for a different room/1 bedroom "house but was given a room instead. No one there when we checked out so we just dropped off key at front desk. Uncomfortable, hot bed. AC worked well. Room on top floor was quiet. Too expensive, however, for what you received. No elevator so you carry heavy bags upstairs. Room large enough but nothing special. Enjoyed talking to housekeeping crew. They were very helpful. Could not eat anything at breakfast as not for diabetics nor was it healthy. Easy to find right off 41, even with construction. Nice meat market and other businesses / restaurants close by. Was still cheaper than staying in Marquette. Was generally quiet / couldn't hear road noise. Suggest having quiet hours in hotel as doors slammed at all hours, but not enough to keep us away. May stay again, not sure.

I enjoyed staying at JRI very much. I really appreciate that the Inn was small. Everyone was cordial and helpful and were able to take time snd explain everything. I was able to make reservations when I called and asked to talk with the front desk. The fact that it was walking distance from a restaurant was great and convenient. I would stay again. Keep it the same size!

Economy business, everything is cost cutting and economical operations to increase their margin. First time in my life I’ve encountered a single use soap bar the size of a 50¢ piece. Towels are very thin and could easily be rotated out. Jacuzzi really needed a dose of defoamer. Much like a Super 8 or Motel 6. Room was okay, but they go the minimum on continental breakfast. The only protein offered was sausage gravy. Customer service was the best criterion the hotel offered.

Positive: The housekeeping staff. The pool & hot tub great temps. Negative: Noise in am. Should have quiet hours & quiet close doors. TV didn't work on any input. Brought our own streaming stick. Bed not the best. Dislike platform beds. Shower head clogged.

It was a nice quiet hotel. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and maintained. The pool area was spotless. We will definitely stay here again the next time we come to the U.P.

Room #110, worst room ever!! You will hear every step that the people make in the room above you. Cleaning crew come in around 7 am and start the minute someone checks out of their room. The people above us came in around 11 pm and were up around 6 am They left the room at 7:50 and the cleaning crew pretty much went right in. We heard every step they made and then the vacuum going across the floor. Our coffee maker didn't work, could never connect to the WIFI and the room key didn't always work. We needed to swipe it several times. A used bar of soap in our tub and the bed was extremely hard. We both had back and neck pain by day 2. We couldn't be happier to leave and will not be back.
