Most amazing place to visit in San Francisco! Lots of Japanese stores ranging from Souvenirs, clothing to food from two different buildings but best to go early! It gets super packed real quick.

My family and I spent hours exploring the Japantown shopping center. There are so many shops and many different dining choices. There is a Daiso store as well which is always fun. It was a little crowded but we didn’t have to wait long in lines. We did have to split our part of 8 into two groups for dinner but we didn’t mind. There is a parking garage but we found street parking.

Very popular social and shopping spaces for both locals and tourists. It offers various and unique dining experiences as well as cultural merchandise. You will never walk home empty handedly or hungry.

It is very nice to hang out here and enjoy people watching, eating great food, walking your dog, and taking in the scenery and energy that all these cultural symbolisms and architecture provide. I came here to eat some good ramen and see what had changed since coming here years ago, and a lot had changed but also hadn't changed, which is great. Restaurants and shops have come and gone, and there are new places to visit and enjoy, but the great thing about Japantown is how vibrant and peaceful it is, and that hasn't changed at all. When coming here, I would suggest coming early to enjoy the place before the tourists and visitors come out. Stay long enough, and you will enjoy people watching and being first in line to enjoy some good snacks as the eateries open for the crowds. Some of the shops that sell trinkets, books, and other gifts such as Kinokuniya open a bit earlier, and it's great to be there first to explore without having to rush and go through obstacles of people. During the late afternoon when the sun starts to go down enjoy a sit on the steps in front of the giant pagoda structure in the Peace Plaza and watch as the"Golden Hour" of the dimming sun colors the sky and surrounding buildings and streets a nice bronze and orange which is atypical of how anime sometimes shows the beautiful coloration of a sunset. Stay later as the night sky trades places with the sun lit sky, and you will see a transformation of bright colorful neon signs and the subdued orange of street lights and shop lights. It's a magical transformation, and when there are festivals happening, it's even better. The only negative to coming here is how unsafe it is to drive and park here as the criminals know that this is a touristy area and there are lots of victims. Otherwise I would take BART train and bus, taxi, robo taxi, or one of the many ride hailing services.

Nice spot in the middle of Japantown to meet with friends or just hang out. There are plenty of places to sit and it is easy to find due to the large pagoda that soars above the two mall sections of Japantown. There are also many interesting plants that you can look at while you wait for your friends to come. Overall, a nice meeting spot!

The Japantown Peace Plaza is located between the two wings on the mall, connecting the two sides as a passage way. Really neat area surrounded by so much history and culture. Glad we didn’t miss exploring Japantown while in SF!

An fantastic experience! Visiting San Francisco? JAPANTOWN is a must see and visit location. You park at the mall garage that have a lift up to the mall. Is it a phenomenal experience as you get to see many shops selling unique products and gifts. Additionally, all of the food there are mouth-watering! Is it extremely affordable and will definitely light up your taste bud. Overall, I'm definitely coming back here if I am ever in San Francisco.
