The service was excellent. Our server was patient even though we asked a bunch of questions about what we were eating. The sushi boat was solid and all the fish was fresh. We also got steamed gyoza that had a ton of flavor. Great experience, but the only problem was that we were the only patrons there! To some I bet that’s a good thing though, and to be fair, it was a Wednesday night.
Best sushi and teriyaki we could find in this area. We love to get lunch bento takeout here, occasionally we dine in and the service was excellent.
The food was good and the place is so cute. It needs to be organized better. It is clean, but there are areas with clutter which takes away from the atmosphere.
This place was recommended from some friends who went a few years ago. After seeing the rating was above 4 stars I figured it’s worth trying out. My wife and I ordered some appetizers Sunday afternoon (fried vegetables, miso soup, and I ordered a kani/seafood salad). I noticed the kani salad was not served ice cold like I am used to. It was a bit cooler than room temperature, but I thought nothing of it as this was my first time at this restaurant and maybe they make it differently. My wife asked to try the kani salad and commented that it tasted “off”. I thought nothing of it other than their Kani salad wasn’t great. At 3am this morning both my wife and I got sick and my wife is currently in the hospital which is most likely food poisoning as she can’t keep anything down and the only thing we had done differently was go out here. I will update once we get confirmation and its not something else.
Fantastic as always! Angry roll, Monkey Roll, Sashimi, Sushi, and Scorpion Bowl we're all awesome! The staff are super friendly and attentive. This IS our favorite place to go for this kind of yummy food.
Japanica II Middletown: The ambience of the restaurant was very nice and felt clean and well maintained. The food was well priced and very filling. I personally recommend the sweet potato roll for those who like a somewhat savory taste. The service was also very quick, didn’t have to wait more than 15 minutes.
Loved the atmosphere here, they have private rooms for comfort , and my favorite was the fresh tea in the pot and the cute tiny cup 🍵 haha , the little things I guess ? But yes it was very affordable and had a cozy atmosphere, I definitely recommend this place
In my top 5 for best sushi restaurants. The lunch special is great and ratio of meat to other ingredients is extremely fair. My only reason for 4 stars is because their house salad needs a lot of work. I thoroughly enjoy the small ginger dressed salad that comes with sushi, however this is the only spot where I can’t even eat more than a few bites of it. The vegetables are always on the way out and the bottom of the container has a quarter inch if water in it. Specifically did not go today for lunch just because I didn’t want to have to think about that salad!
Excellent food quality and taste. Professional service and great Middle Eastern/ Asian cuisine. The only thing I noticed that they give very little napkins, like they have some sort of shortage or something.
