Jamaican Grill - Jamaican restaurant in North Charleston - 4226 Rivers Ave, USA

We have been looking for good Jamaican food since we left NY. Jamaican Grill comes close. It's very tasty and fresh. The chicken curry is really good with the right amount of heat. Rice and peas was flavorful, and the cabbage was really good. The fried plantain was fine - not dry. Atmosphere is just very basic and casual. Staff is friendly. Limited parking.

It was pretty good. The only complaint I had was that the plantains were dry. Other than that everything was on point. We had the oxtails and were very pleased.

My friend and I had dinner here on Saturday. She had the oxtail and i had the jerk chicken. The portions were good but she complained the her oxtail were smal but everything was amazing. The only complaint i have is that they ran outta cabbage

RUDE FROM THE TIME I WALKED IN! I said good afternoon, NO RESPONSE! Music was EXTREMELY LOUD! Ordered my food, another girl came out the kitchen & they proceeded to whisper. Then told me they didn’t have a item I ordered.. Ordered a drink, she didn’t even hand it to me, she just put it on the counter.. I still tipped just to come home & try to eat the food but I couldn’t went to sleep & woke up throwing it all up! Never should have purchased anything from the vibe I got waking through the door!

I ordered my food online at 5:15pm yesterday and received a message that it would be ready at 5:35pm. Well it wasn’t, and a gentleman walked in and ordered 3 trays of food and still received his food before me and I only had one tray of jerk chicken. I received my food about 6;20pm. The restaurant was not busy at all. No customers there except the one guy and myself. I work too hard for my money and we’re in a recession. Everyone is seeing inflated prices everywhere and I refuse to continue to patronize any establishment that doesn’t appreciate it. Businesses forget about the days when they first opened and wanted people to spend their money with them. Then they get complacent once business picks up and totally disregard how they make their money to pay their own bills. I will NEVER return to the Jamaican Grill in North Charleston

My family and I enjoyed our dinners...we are from New York so it was hard to find that Good West Indian Food !! We are not on that end often but when we are we always make. Stop before heading back to our small town in SC

I love their oxtails, rice and cabbage. Service is great and you get a good amount of food….. the one piece of fried plantain with your meal is disappointing, but the flavorful oxtails make up for it!!

Hard to find GOOD Jamaican food in any town that also give resonable portions for how much oxtail is. ( just my personal experience) This is the best Caribbean food your going to find in Charleston.
