The jail trail is amazing because you can walk a short way and go down to this beautiful little spot right next to the river and watch the water go over the rocks and feel the most beautiful inner calm after only a few minutes. Having a rough week? Stop by and clear out that week in nature 💗
I visited in early Winter, the river was beautiful, the. Kean, fresh smell of the woods, cottonwood trees, was refreshing.. birds were hiring and critters were scurring around in the underbrush... A def. nice stroller for anyone seeking peace...
I like that the trail is easily accessible and has ample parking. The interpretive boards make for an informing walk along the Verde River. The cottonwood trees are HUGE! I only saw two other people on the trails and aside from some traffic noise from town it was a peaceful 30 minutes. There seems to be an abundance of criss-crossing social trails and it made the route slightly confusing but not problematic. I saw a number of herons roosting in a tree and two ducks in the river. If you're looking for something easy, short, scenic, and convenient - this is a good option.
Easy, mellow walk with some spots to take a break and see the river. Lots of birds. Entrance in Old Town also has a few restaurants that are open early for breakfast, brunch, coffee, and/or cocktails.
Cool , fun and easy trail. Only wish I had more time to explore because I was really good enjoying it here. Parking super easy too.
Very sandy from riverbed. Lots of overgrowth and unclear trail signage.
Really easy trail. Signs are reasonably easy to follow. We did lose the specific trail at some point but there was a trail to follow. There was pretty water scenery. It was a fun a d relaxing time.
Only if you want to breathe fresh air, the trail is a disappointment, the trail board maps were trashed and maintenance seems to be an afterthought.
There's certainly nothing glamorous about the inside area, it's your typical diner feel. The sandwiches are pretty huge and filling. Definitely a recommend to stop here when in the mood.
Love this small family business! Adriana and her son Carlos attend the front of the house, while her husband is cooking in the kitchen! They treat you like family when you walk in the door and the food and definitely the salsa is on point!!
I'm thankful we didn't find Colt right away because it would've been the only place we would've eaten. The patio was packed, so we sat inside at the bar where it was nice & empty. The bartender was like an old friend that you haven't seen in a while
A relaxed ambiance. We sat in the large leather couches, & just enjoyed facing the windows. We understood they would be refurnishing & changing their name in the near future. We enjoyed the red wine flight.
I guess it would be classified as a dive bar??? Quite an extensive list and variety of beers and ciders. We had the Strawberry cider, the dry cider, and the dark porter. Shawn was the bar tender at the time. Nice guy, good service.
Awesome park. Sites are big and spacious even the lower sections with most of the sites being pull throughs. Pool is closed for the winter as usual but hot tub remains open year round. Lodges and restrooms are very clean. Staff at the front gate are
Rooms and beds are clean and comfortable. Location is great as the hotel is within walking distance of restaurants. Breakfast was good with hit and cold items. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Dog friendly.
