Jail Hill Inn is outstanding!!! My husband and I stayed here for the first time last month and we loved it everything about it! The history of the building is very cool, and it is amazing that Matthew turned this into such a unique and beautiful bed and breakfast. The grounds and sitting areas outside are charming and the interior is absolutely gorgeous!! The décor is elegant and the attention to detail is impressive! The room we stayed in was wonderful and it had all of the amenities and comforts of home – mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave, cozy sitting area, fireplace, spa tub, robe, slippers, oversized shower, flat screen tv, plush linens on a comfy bed. The afternoon charcuterie plate, cookies and bottle of wine delivered to the room every afternoon was a wonderful treat that we looked forward to each day. The breakfast every morning was delicious and relaxing! The Jail Hill Inn is only a couple of blocks from Main Street which is nice because it is on a quiet street with a number of spots on the street right in front to park and still close enough to walk to all the shops and restaurants. We enjoyed talking to Matthew, the owner and Innkeeper, and he felt like a friend by the time we left. We can’t wait to return and stay in another room and eventually become “Repeat Offenders”.

Unbelievable stay at Jail Hill Inn this past weekend celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Matthew, the Innkeeper, was awesome. The moment we arrived he welcomed us with a warm hello and talked a little bit about our upcoming stay. He showed us to our suite, room 202, one of 6 suites at Jail Hill Inn. The room was amazing, with a 14' multiple brick barreled vaulted ceiling. Appointed with a rich leather couch and chair made the room very inviting. Many Tiffany lamps added a warm touch, along with many interesting artifacts to enjoy. The bathroom was adorned with high end toiletries, a walk-in shower, and a soaking tub. Quirky jailhouse bathrobes were supplied that the inmates would have liked, I'm sure. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed with a backdoor that lead up a flight of stairs to a huge deck overlooking the Jail's backyard. ||A three course breakfast was provided that you normally wouldn't make for yourself at home. Eggs Benedict the first morning and a superb quiche the next. People eat with their eyes as well as their mouths and these breakfasts were a work of art. In the afternoon, Matthew provided a tray, brought up to your room, with an assortment of delicious cheeses, meats, nuts, fruits, and a bottle of wine, your choosing.||Galena was a great place to visit and when we come back next year, Jail Hill Inn will definitely be where we stay.

My wife and I stayed for two nights and it was wonderful! The Inn is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Our suite was over 800 sq ft and perfectly furnished. The breakfast that is provided is delicious and the dining atmosphere is second to none. Matthew is the perfect host and inn keeper!!! Couldn’t have been any better. Thank you Matthew.

My Husband and I just had the pleasure of staying at the Jail Hill Inn for our Anniversary. This place is the essence of luxury. Matthew the inn keeper made us feel so welcomed. This Inn has six suites that are very spacious and beautifully decorated. We stayed in suite 201 and I must say it is one of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. The small details like piped in room music, rain head shower and comfortable King sized bed with luxury linens made for a very comfortable stay. We had a bottle of Prosecco and box of chocolates waiting in our suite when we arrived. The best thing was the generous charcuterie board and bottle of wine every evening. The breakfast was delicious and so filling we had no need for lunch. We truly felt pampered.

I have to start by saying that I’m not one who takes the time to write a review, but our stay at Jail Hill takes the prize on our weekend getaways. Not only did it meet our expectations, but it exceeded them. Therefore, I thought Jail Hill was worthy for me to take the time and do so.||This is a beautiful Inn from top to bottom where the pictures online don’t do it justice. We stayed in room 402, which was not only spacious but beautifully decorated and equipped with all that we needed. But it goes beyond the beauty of the Inn.||The service Matthew provided was excellent. From the time of our arrival where he made sure we had everything we needed and suggestions on local restaurants, to our departure where he provided us with popcorn for snacking on our drive back. Then there is the delicious breakfast to our bottle of wine and tasty treats waiting for us in our room every evening. Matthew has an eye for detail and you can see he loves what he does.||I look forward to coming next year and making this a yearly tradition.|| Noelia O.

The accommodations are the best I have ever experienced. This is our six year staying at the Jail Hill, Mathew does a wonderful job making you feel welcome and comfortable as well preparing a fabulous breakfast. The view from the rooms on the 4th floor of Galena are beautiful, and you will love having some of your complimentary wine in one of the outdoor seating areas.

My wife and I love Jail Hill Inn. We have been coming here for our anniversary for the last 5 years. Matthew really has this place in tip top shape and has thought of every detail to make your time there pleasurable. The snacks for the room and the breakfast in the morning are superb. So glad we found this place to relax and have time for ourselves away from the kids.

From the design of the inn and the luxurious touches throughout the suite to the decadence of the three-course breakfasts and charcuterie trays, the Jail Hill Inn is a magical place. Matthew is the magician - and he is committed to hospitality on all levels: preparing breakfast for this picky eater, leaving a baggie of ice in the freezer, providing a variety of board games in the suite, recommending restaurants, maintaining an impeccable property, etc. Thank you for a wonderful weekend and we can’t wait to visit again soon!
