Jaenicke's Root Beer Stand - Hot dog restaurant in Kankakee - 390 E River St, USA

Well I was misinformed by a Ryan Clayton bc there are no fried green tomatoes here but all the food is beyond good definitely worth the trip in my opinion. This place ALWAYS reminds me of my grandmothers and always will. I will be posting photos as soon as the deliciousness is all done.

This had been one of my favorites since I was a kid! The food is simply delicious and always cooked to order, so hot and fresh! The Kankakee location is 1000x better than the Bourbonnais location. I'll always continue to be a loyal customer here!!

Jaenicke's has been around for decades. It was a favorite for, my friends and I, when we were kids and teens in the 80s and 90s. Although I moved away almost 30 years ago when I am in town visiting family and friends, I stop by to get a red hot with the classic sauce and rootbeer float. Still delicious after all these years.

This was a nice little gem to stumble upon. Our team went there after a tournament. The lady who took care of us took the order and made sure the food was ready at the same time for all of the girls on the team. Food was great. The fries were crisp and flavorful. My daughter loved her chicken strips. We also had corn dog nuggets which were fun! The rootbeer was really good. A little sweeter than I expected and it had a great flavor! Will definitely come here again.

I wish we could give higher then 5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This is the best hotdog in the world. It truly doesn't get any better then this. The magic is in the sauce they put on the dogs here. I wish they served them in Arizona. I sure do miss them. It's a must stop for when we visit family back home. Great service with unbelievable delicious hotdogs that are very inexpensive! 👍😋

This place is The #1 best chili/sauce dog in this state. They have a plethora of choices for food, it's not just a hotdog shop that's for sure, I'm especially partial to the corn dog nuggets but ALWAYS at least 2 chili/Saucedogs every single time I go. If you've never been here before and your in the Kankakee/Bradley/Bourbonnais area, stop by this place and get yourself a Saucedog you'll never have better!!

Childhood memories. It still stands. One of the few safe places one can relax outside and get a blast from the past. The hot dogs and fries were delicious. The root beer was smooth and sweet w vanilla. Oh, how I miss the glass mugs. I miss the waitress coming to my car. This is not Jaenikes fault. They are just being safe and keeping the price down. I still had fun. I saw my sister's in my memories. They all worked there. It was the Kankakee I remember. Yes, it costs more today. Tell me what does not? You can't put a price on fun and memories. Just go and enjoy it. There's happy times waiting for you. *****

Great dogs, quick service, mushrooms outstanding. Love Chicago dogs, have to take off cucumbers, or hit the gas x. Nice people best hot dogs since A&W closed years ago.
