Jackson Point Picnic Area - Picnic ground in Wilmington - E Lake Shore Dr, USA

Very beautiful and photogenic. Flora, fauna and wildlife ever changing with the seasons. There is always a reason to carry a camera when walking the 7 miles of beauty and nature.

One of the prettiest and most serene places you will find in the middle of a city. You can just sit under the tall pines & cypress and watch the herons, egrets and other interesting birds. You can bring a book or journal and read or write without being disturbed. You can bring your family for a picnic. It's even quiet enough to use it as a meditation or tai chi spot. The only downside, if you don't live in the neighborhood, is that there is no parking, which may be the very reason it's such a quiet & serene spot. If you park at the boat-rental or playground parking, it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the picnic park.

Nice place for a run! Someone commented about the homeless people in park, said there's too many. Well.... so what- they don't bother anyone. Anyhow... nice park to run, bike, walk, picnic etc.

Love get my exercise here. If have any animals need to walk bring your own bags to pick up after them. No way wash your hands either.

Over the last 30 years coming to the spot, it seems like it's more beautiful in the morning than it is in the afternoon.

Gators, rabbits, racoons, snapping turtles, owls, coyotes, foxes, ducks, herons, geese and possums. I have seen them all at this park. It's beautifully maintained.

Too many homeless people sleep under the sheltered picnic tables. Took our kids to play at the playground and found 2 syringes IN the playground area. 3 more when walking around.

This place has been important to me for over a decade. It’s a wonderful little park, just be careful of the cypress knees
