I wnjoyed my visit to this historic home turned visitor center. The person manning the service desk , Castidy i believe was her name was very attentive and helpful in answering my questions and guiding thru the various information brochures about the area. She offered a free tour of the mansion which i enjoyed very much. It was a very pleasant visit and experience over all.
Nice place to sit and take photos but the visitor center is closed due to covid so not sure what it's like inside. Would have been nice to go inside.
The Russ House is a photogenic icon in Marianna. Great history there.

One of the most beautiful original vintage homes/buildings here in Jackson county that Hurricane Michael didn't plow down! Such a blessing to still have it here...
Hired me and two other local photographers to photograph at 40 different locations throughout the county. Within a month the director who contracted us was fired. To date I still have yet to be contacted by anyone else from the county about this contract. If I hadn't heard through the local rumor mill that the director was fired, I would still be weeks in and lots of my own money out of pocket on this project. I expect more professionalism from people who receive a large portion of my income each year I. The form of property taxes etc. Honestly, it makes one wonder what else is going on and how much time and money is wasted by the Jackson County government. It's not like people around here can afford waste.
Beautiful old building outside and in!! Great information from the staff there about the surrounding area! We did the driving tour around the town of Marianna and found most of the buildings and houses! Stop by the Visitors Center and get the Self Guided Tour booklet...a must have that will guide you around the town!!
