Jack Allen’s is one of those dependably great restaurants where I always feel at home. The draft beer selection is good, and I’ve never tried anything to eat that I was disappointed in. I still love the little taste of pimento cheese that is a little freebie at the beginning of the meal! The best thing on the menu is the guacamole they mash up table side— it’s head and shoulders above any other in town.

Good restaurant with a bit slow service during peak hours. Usually has a wait on weekends upwards of 30 mins. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Host was nice to add us to the line and specified that we had about half an hour wait. 4 people were at the host counter and still seemed a bit mismanaged. Checked back in 15 mins to see if they had updates and they seated us at the table right away. Service was fast and dishes were tasty but had another 20 mins after finishing our meal to get the check. Good quality and portions. Overall a decent brunch place but might wanna avoid during busy hours. They don’t have Sunday brunch buffet any more.

January 2024: We had lunch at Jack Allen’s Kitchen on a Wednesday and the place was still busy, but not as bad as on Fridays. Usually has complimentary valet parking but not on this day. Highway construction on SH 71 is starting to creep near this place and the turning lane has been removed where have to be careful crossing lanes to either get here or leave. Our server was very nice and scanned over the menu where have dined here so many times pretty much tried all the listings. I decided to choose the 5 Cheese Macaroni and Chicken. This place still has great atmosphere and it was a bit chilly where the outdoor patio was closed off. I always recommend any one of the Jack Allen’s Kitchen locations to friends and out-of-town visitors. My entrée arrived and looked very presentable. The chicken was grilled and cut up in big pieces and tasted very good. The cheese macaroni was excellent as before and had great flavor. I am not sure what the five cheeses are but they all complemented each other very well. Beside the great food here the cocktails are also above the competition where I enjoyed a Tito’s Sage & Grapefruit Splash. My drink was very tasty and they do have a great bar atmosphere inside and in the patio. April 2023: Jack Allen’s Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants for not only tasty food but delicious mixed cocktails and great atmosphere. The Oak Hill location is not far from my home but like today always get there when they open at 11:00 AM where is quickly gets busy. Luckily complementary valet parking is provided if you can’t find a spot. I decided to enjoy lunch at the bar inside however they have another bar in the covered outdoor patio. I ordered a Tito’s Sage & Grapefruit Splash while looking over the menu. My drink was fantastic. I decided on the 5 Cheese Macaroni and Chicken describes as twisted elbow macaroni and achiote chicken. The staff and even those seated at the bar were all nice and friendly. I liked it while waiting for my food to be prepared. Soon my macaroni was placed in front of me and looked and smelled delicious. I was very hot and after one bite I was in heaven. All the cheeses blend well together and the chicken had great flavor. It was a great choice. Overall another great experience at Jack Allen’s Kitchen in Oak Hill.

The environment is wonderful, very presentable. A merge between casual, formal, and western; provides a pleasent environment is delectable foods. My quesadilla, terrific, the brussel sprouts... subpar. Either way, well worth eating here. Enjoy!!

We had a great dinner here! Everything was delicious. The host staff was very nice, and Joe was an excellent server, very pleasant and helped us decide on our meals. The appetizer special of fried zucchini was so good, I hope to see it on the menu more. Vibrant atmosphere, lots to look at on the walls. Will be back!

Given our temporary residence location, this is an excellent spot! More than just food, but it's a comfort spot. Has a bar so drink options are plentiful. Plenty of parking front and back, no issues there. Once inside they are always fast to find you a table or booth. I've never had to make a reservation. I am not super excited with their food menu. But the items I order, they were good. For some reason, I really don't like their mash potatoes. Two out of two so far just didn't taste right to me. All and all, definitely great spot to come back to, kids like it too.

This location is very loud, and does not have a lot of parking. Oddly they have a valet service yet it is not an upscale place. Food was well seasoned although 3 dishes came up really spicy and it wasn't described as being spicy on the menu at all. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and it was not good, they replaced them and it was slightly different. Basically tasted like box wine that was open too long so we didn't drink them but they charged for them anyway. Not sure I would come back to this location for those reasons.
