Ja-Mar North Travel Park - Featured Reviews (195)
I’ve lived in Ja Mar since 2006! We’re a family! There’s always something going on! Cookouts, crafts, dancing and dinners. So many activities!! So much fun!! The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained! Caleb I have Great Respect For!! He’s out in the trenches and has been since a very young age!! Lonnie… God Bless You and Thank You!! And a BIG HUGE THANK YOU to all the Wonderful , Beautiful, Amazing People who live in the park! It’s comforting to know if you need help or assistance there’s someone always around!!
From the moment we drove in the gates, we knew this was going to be a wonderful place to stay. Very welcoming, clean, friend & a beautiful place! Our 1st trip to Florida since our retirement & we definitely hit the jackpot of resorts. We only wish we could stay here next year but unfortunately all spots are filled & that's because it's the best. Thank you Ja Mar North for allowing us to be part of your family & the wonderful memories we have!!!
There are no rooms, it is a trailer park mostly for snow birds with a few year round residents. They charge too much for the rental of spaces. There are better and less expensive places to park your trailer while you avoid winter up north.
The residents are amazing here most of them anyway. But they use pond water for the hoses and I don't like that. I've never seen that anywhere else
My husband and I reserved at JaMar after our friends checked it out. We have a 30 ft Class A and had no problem either parking ( they escort you to your site and they help you park). The site had ample room for out rig snd two cars in front along with about 8 ft beside the rig for the patio area. They have changed the rules on pets and you can walk them anywhere. They just expect you to pick up after them. There are tons of activities from biking to arts and crafts, bowling, and other activities outside the park and inside. You can go to as many as you want or none. We found everyone to be friendly. I find it funny that many complain about things but don’t stop to realize what a good value the park is. We looked down south near Ft Myers and not only was there a wait list, rates were between $2,000-3,000 /month. If you want more room picnic tables etc. pick out a park that has those amenities. Don’t criticize because you did not do your due diligence. The park has already filled up for next season so I guess they are going something right.
I was not going to leave this review, however, a nasty email from Lisa at the front office, threatening us with a $500 fine for our alleged throwing away a pallet (after we asked for our $200 deposit back), has encouraged me to warn you ALL from staying here at Ja Mar. To be clear, I immediately emailed her a picture of the only pallet we have had in the last 8 months, which currently remains under our trailer, and holds up my paddleboards from the ground. So she lied, and then threatened us, when we asked for our deposit back, just to be clear. She makes up wholly unsubstantiated lies, and then threatens YOU when YOU ask for your money back. Yup….stay FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!||So if this alone hasn’t scared you away from this horrific “park,” the fact that you pay $650-850/month to live like sardines (these are the smallest spots we’ve ever experienced at an RV Park), should scare you away as well. But if you’re still not convinced, read on!||How do I say this so that I can properly ensure you don’t have the worst time EVER at Ja Mar? …||Bottom line is, regardless of your age, if you want to live your life, have adventures, fun, and laugh with friends at 7pm on a Saturday night, don’t even think about staying here. Why? Your curmudgeonly old neighbors will complain. And no, they don’t knock on your door to ask you to quiet down first, as normal adult human beings do. They complain straight to the front office. To your delight, you will get MULTIPLE noise complaints, and the park minions will knock on your door. You will get kicked out for having fun at 7pm on a Saturday night, just FYI. LITERALLY. Don’t bother bringing anything up to the front office/Lisa. She sincerely could give two S***S, she just wants your money.||The old folks at Ja Mar are a different, and quite honestly an extremely unknown breed. Rest assured, the next morning at 7:55 am, they’re outside your bedroom window with their power tools revving!!! So be prepared to not sleep in after your noise complaint filled evening. These old folks STRICTLY use their power tools during early hours of the morning, because the rest of the day they’re busy sitting in their chairs chain smoking and judging you. Silently, because they’re old and jealous you can walk, run, paddleboard and get outside of Ja Mar to see the world!||But…||If you’re just simply existing and living each day waiting for sweet baby Jesus, our great Lord, to take you away from this earth, you don’t travel or adventure anywhere, you’re boring, you chain smoke ALL day EVERY day, you are judgmental as hell, and you’re a bible thumper and/or Canadian….you will have found your Utopia at Ja Mar.||If you have nothing left to do in life but complain, this is your Garden of Eden.||Oh…and don’t like sports. Sports fans being enthusiastic about their team is despised at Ja Mar. In fact, you’re shunned for doing so.||Do not ride your bike on the wrong side of the street (which is really just an opinion to these folks).||Make sure there’s plenty of milk in your cereal, because HOW DARE you crunch too loud. In fact, just throw away all your chips, pretzels and any food that’s louder than the squeak of a mouse.||And make sure you have plenty and plenty and PLENTY of cartons of cigarettes. CHAIN SMOKERS GALORE! ||If the above describes you, WELCOME HOME!||Goodbye and GOOD RIDDANCE!||TOODLES!|
Where do I start. Lived their for five years. Was a fulltime resident. The first two years were awsome. However they take alot of amenities away in the summer. Never got in trouble. One phone call no warning we got called to the office and the people I hung with all got evicted. If the part timers don't like you your gone. Then they try and say you can't sell a unit you bought. I am very disappointed in them. They say their Christians, however when I begged to stay and not get evicted they still sad no. I apologized to the SNOW BIRDS because heaven forbid you disrupt their winter home. I felt like a second class citizen. They shut down our fire pits but the people right across the street had one going. They said we were loud, but alot of people were loud. They tried telling me I couldn't voice my opinions on my own Facebook account. Definitely NOT the place to go if your looking to have fun. This is the place fun goes to die. But if you have lots of money and are part time your golden. I definitely will be more cautious where I live now .
The good - This park is in a great location with stores like WalMart, TJ Maxx, Home Depot and Lowes close by. Great restaurants are a $12 Uber ride away. The price is reasonable and the office staff is helpful.||The not so good - If you like to or need to use your RV park's facilities for toileting or showering, do not stay here! They have one toilet and shower at the front of the park and one toilet and shower at the rear. When I needed to use them they were either occupied or being cleaned. In addition, there is no a/c in the stalls. This may not be a big deal during cool weather, but during hot & humid days...ewwww! In addition, they have many washing machines but only 2 dryers in each of their two laundry rooms. Not a big deal during sunny days, however, one of their main rules is that you are not allowed to hang dry anything at your campsite. Strange. Also, when I saw they had a fitness room, I was hooked! HA - the "fitness room" is a small non-air conditioned room with 2 elliptical machines that were evidently assembled by a toddler in the dark whilst it was half asleep and 1 bicycle and weight bench with several free weights. Lastly, if you have a dog, be aware there are only a few streets where dog walking is allowed. ||Super grateful to have found a spot in Florida in January, but felt compelled to write this review in case you have options.
Great food! Awesome service!
Portions are large and if you eat in, the chef may even surprise you with extra samples or special garlic naan bread. â¤ï¸
I had Butter Chicken and Samosas so good! My husband had the 3.protein platter, so I sampled a
We are visiting from Arizona and popped in here for lunch. We were thrilled with our choice. We received exceptional care from Lauren, it was so nice to receive old-fashioned service. Plus, the food was better than we could have expected. I had the f
VERY clean, chill, and welcoming local bar. Ran by husband and wife, who are so friendly! This is the first place I've been able to find that has marker 48 on tap outside of going to dunedin.
Amazing! We were looking to try a restaurant we never been to and I am so glad we did.. Argentoâs is amazing and our server Maritza made the whole experience perfect. All our meals were amazing and the service was impeccable.
Wonderful menu at Catalinaâs Cuban Cafe. I tried the tilapia with garlic butter and white wine, yellow rice and a side salad. The husband had the braised beef with onion, yellow rice and Cuban black beans. Both dishes were amazing. My only critic i
