MASSIVE shout out to Shaggy for his habanero aioli and the most delicious Hash Ketchum special! Our whole experience was nothing short of spectacular with wonderful, friendly staff and some seriously amazing food in a unique atmosphere. We loved everything!
Congenial staff and sidewalk table patrons reflect the friendliest crowd of locals to be found anywhere around Shelby! By far the most sumptuous sandwich selection and inviting ambience around! Cold craft beer selection with a balance of quality and variety in mind. Good music and a variety of local performers, local art displayed, lively customers, and just the general ambience combine to make this place by far the hippest place where a good cross section of people gather to interact in uptown Shelby. Only a few steps from the uptown square and even closer to adjacent pavilion events and performances, this cozy establishment inspires needed, open minded conversation and grass roots interactivity! Delicious food, great service and convenient location! Love it!
My friend introduced me to J's several years ago and it's a Really nice place to go. My friend and myself go there quite a bit for sandwiches drinks and chips always a great meal. We order and they bring it out to our table even on some really chilly nights in the winter we just like the outside, lol. On cold nights we sit inside and enjoy the smells, and me the nostalgia of the building, I miss the things of old days when they weren't old days. When buildings had style and character. All I can say is go the staff is wonderful and have a great sandwich or one of their other delicious dishes.
Best sandwiches in town. Good vibes. Always something to like on the beer list. My kids love their grilled cheese and pb&j's. Staff is always pleasant and helpful.
Great sandwiches. I had the Pioneer and a hard apple cider, both of which were excellent. My husband and I will definitely be returning to try more of their delicious sandwiches. Highly recommended. 👌
DO NOT GO HERE!!! WHATEVER YOU DO!! We had the absolutely worst experience here. The counter guy was the rudest person I have ever met and I live in New Jersey!! (also the panini was mushy and gross so there's that....)
This is what I emailed the owner when we left.....
We stopped in yesterday and ordered two sandwiches. I waited an extremely long time (30 mins) which was fine except the order came out and was not in a to go bag and it was missing the second sandwich. I reminded the guy who took my order that it was to go and he said “yeah yeah they forgot” in a dismissive way. So I waited another 10 minutes and finally they put our order in the window. I politely waited for the guy to finish taking an order and I said “hi I think that’s my order in the window” and he said “yeah it probably is but you see I’m busy right now”- with a total attitude. I said “ok but that wasn’t a very kind way to say it” and he starts raising his voice and telling me to stop yelling at him and that “I see he’s busy and he’ll get to it when he gets to it”.
Firstly I was not raising my voice or anything. I was honestly just saying our food was in the window and then he completely lost his cool on me and started throwing a temper tantrum like a child.
He began verbally attacking and bullying me telling me that I could wait and that I was yelling at him- which I was not. I was so shook up and upset when I left I was in complete tears. My husband was so upset when he saw me he called to speak to an owner and the same counter guy yelled at him and hung up the phone on him.
This is just the craziest, rudest interaction I’ve ever had and I cannot say enough sad things to describe my experience in your establishment.
Needless to say, we will not be back which you may not even care about. And you may not even care that this happened but I will be spreading the word on social media and anywhere else that will listen because yesterdays experience was so awful I couldn’t stop shaking and crying for like 30 minutes.
Honestly, if you care about your business I would not have that man represent your company. He is an absolute disgrace.
Wonderful place with good vibe, great staff, and outside seating. Addition of Sunday Mimosas is top notch. On the regular menu we love the Captain Fantastic (has a kick) and Monte Carlo!
This spot is very special. Highly recommend 👌

Best subs in town! The turkey and cheese sandwich was amazing! Staff were friendly and helpful with choices. I would highly the steak and cheese as well!
Great place to workout and very friendly staff. Best part are the delicious KIND smoothies and bowls. A place for beginning and experienced gym goers. Give it a try if you are in the Shelby, NC area!
The Spinning Leaf at The Vineyard is such a gorgeous wedding venue! I had so much fun shooting this wedding there and I can't wait to get back there to shoot more. The vineyards and the background with nature and mountains serves as the best backdr
This place was INCREDIBLE!! I have been to a lot of the high end places in Charlotte (Beef n Bottle, Ruth's Chris, etc) and my partner and I agreed this was the best steak we have ever had in our lives!!
We started with the mushroom tart and it was
