Island Houseboat - Boat rental service in Fort Walton Beach - 1201 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE, USA

Upon arriving to the area a few hours early, I made contact with management to possibly checking in early. I was told I was unable to check in early due to housekeeping not quite being done. I understood the concept in which this boat house was presented but the delivery was below average. After viewing more closely the exterior need many repairs. The interior was extremely outdated with shabby furnishings which were questionably clean. The inside smelled of a pungent odor which I tried to remove with disinfectant. The rugs on the floors were Dusty and unclean. The bedding was thin & it seemed covered in sand although we had not been to the beach nor in the bed. Old Chicken bones were found on the upper deck which seemingly had been repaired with thin tape & was a dangerous hazard. It was dark and the lighting failed to work in most of the areas. The shower was an absolute horror! We had to shower at a friend's house because the shower provided appeared unsanitary. The toilet was placed inside of the bedroom which allowed absolutely no separation from your bedroom and provided very very little privacy. The location was awesome very close to entertainment and the beach! It was my birthday so I made the best of the experience but, it had the feel of the Bates Motel.

The location is great, however, the accommodation was awful. This could be a nice place if it were cleaned and maintenance was kept up. Had to completely cover the toilet with saran wrap to deal with the putrid odor coming from it. We used public bathrooms away from the houseboat. The furniture is old, outdated, and in very poor condition. Fortunately, we brought our own towels, washcloths and linens. No response from property mgmt at all!

Very clean and affordable rental. Was contacted immediately after purchasing online with check-in details, and driving directions. We will be booking again! Cute place!

Filthy roaches not at all like the pictures linen dirty carpet needs to be clean and mold on shower curtain it has not been cleaned in years very disappointed owner never responded to text or phone calls
