How has this hospital not been sued yet for their billing department? They are borderline scammers with what they claim you owe them vs what your own insurance company claims you owe. This has happened to me and my family multiple times and it makes me wonder how many people who are a little more well off just pay the bills to this hospital that they don't actually owe.
It sucks because the doctors and nurses here are for the most part great.
Nurses need to be alert and observant better trained and supervised. Hospital er need to get to hospital rooms quicker and more blankets. Need observe blood not pouring out of patients back. Add more. I have been patient here couple times. Good over all but in winter rooms are very cold due to no drapes at windows. And, no blankets. When finally got blankets they had to be warmed in their heater. They must need better maintenance people and hospital need more money to room care as said above. Thermostat inefficient. Scary due to hospital needs more money designated for inpatient rooms and thermostat control. Just ask me, I will come over (I live only couple blocks away) hope better place to go. Nurses can do only so much the problem is in administration and probably board of directors. Ask for more money, Anac can afford more.
Recently, I had a surgical procedure done at Island Hospital Anacortes. I received exceptional care by all of the staff that I interacted with. From the volunteer who wheeled me from the entrance to the surgical registration desk, to all of the RNs that gave me care, I was treated with respect and kindness and professionalism.
The staff appeared to be well-trained and very considerate of my comfort. I would recommend Island Hospital to anyone that needs medical care.
wonderful, clinic, great providers, prompt responses to any inquiries on the portal, and awesome front desk assistance and I’ve been with Island Hospital for about 20 years And in this day of changing medical terrain, it is truly the little hospital that could. They also work really well with specialists from other clinics for my husband‘s heart condition. The older we get the more we think we will stay put to be close to our providers and hospital!!!
My Primary Care Physician and his Medical Assistant are THE ABSOLUTE BEST medical professionals and team that I have ever seen. They clearly have a system worked out that literally runs like a well oiled machine. From in person appointments to prescription refills and patient portal messages, they are always quick and efficient in their care and responses. That being said, during in person appointments, I am never made to feel rushed or that I am just another patient. All of my questions are answered and I receive a clear plan of what we are going to do moving forward, with clarification of my understanding of said plan. My team and experiences with Island Health 24th Street have always been absolutely top notch. So much so that I drive 30 miles round trip to Island Health 24th Street, even though there are a plethora of medical practices and professionals much closer to my home!!!
Keep up the great work!!!
I’m an Anacortes resident. My wife and children are also seen here. Establishing my own primary care physician has been hard, the number of doctors available are few, and appointments often need to be scheduled months in advance.
My appointment was finally scheduled for this afternoon, but due to unforeseen work circumstances I had to call ahead and cancel my appointment. I was told by the receptionist that I would not be able to reschedule, and that because I was missing this first appointment I would never be able to receive primary care at island hospital again. You heard that right.
So now I need to pay a no show fee, and I will never be seen by a primary care physician at island hospital where my wife and children are seen. My confusion and questions were treated with indifference.
I’m grateful I have a loving family and good employment, because if I were alone and depressed, this treatment I have received from Island Hospital staff is heartbreaking and makes me feel lower than I can properly explain.
I don’t need a doctor that badly. I’m in good health. But I got the message, I’ll go somewhere else. I would rather drive out of town to be treated with respect. You guys have a good day, I hope your experiences here are better. 🙏
p.s.
Your quality care ‘copy and paste’ response to any negative review is worse than just not replying at all. Why would I want to call your complaint line if you have already told me that you don’t want to serve me? What more do I owe you that I need to explain your mistreatment to someone else in your organization? Gee whiz, someday your bureaucracy will come under examination when quality reaches an all time low, and my message will stand as a witness to your indifference and complacency. On that day, the city of Anacortes will enjoy a breath of fresh air. Or you yourself could just start becoming that needed change now.
Danelle was fantastic!!! My wife and I came in from the only hospital on this island to Island Health. We left very unsatisfied and upset until we arrived at Island Health. They were able to get us in sooner, and we were able to at least get in the back rooms without waiting over 3hours in a lobby. Danelle was very professional and polite. She stuck with us every step of the way. Answered all our questions and asked us if we needed anything, got us blankets, water, and ice. And made small talk and was just very friendly, nice, and professional overall. which I feel made a huge difference while waiting to be seen. We need more nurses like her in clinics and hospitals. I definitely believe she deserves a raise for not only doing her job professionally but being able to go above and beyond and even able to calm my wife with small talk and answering our questions. Keep up the good work Danelle!!!......I hope I spelled her name correctly.
I recently had back surgery at Island Hospital. Everything went smooth from Dr Lu, volunteers, pre-op and all the medical staff that cared for me for the three days I was in there. All were very nice, caring and professional. Thanks to all!
